I know you guys dont care about the facts, but I thought I would try.

The way GM was bailed out is highly subject to debate. Besides, I was talking about the hundreds of billions to banks and others in this case...

aka if Obama and Bernanke stuff hundreds of billions into the pockets of Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, etc - then the wealth "trickles down" to local banks, companies who need credit and consumers right?

right?

lawl.

Bah I cant stand most American cars unfortunately. They just dont make them to accommodate people of my build. I figured it out one day while I was shopping for pants actually.... ever try finding 30/32 pants? Its almost fucking impossible.

Same with finding an American car that fits me =/

Unless its a chick car, or a budgetmobile....

meh.

Luckily dem Euros an Azns still make cars ergonomically designed for normal sized people ^_^

I am thinking on replacing the beetle soon. I have multiple likes out there now, but it is all about the wallet.

I'll post what I get. It is going to be around February after tax time.

You have one of the old-skool beetles, or a newfangled beetle?

I like the old ones, the new ones I didnt care for so much.

The old ones are just cool though.

@ Jet, Go Tesla or go home.

As for ford, my truck has rolled over 200k miles and still runs great. I just wish I could get a truck above 50 mpg.

Yeah I dont have 100k for a Tesla. I would love one. I have a 2001 beetle. I have to commute over around 80 miles per day so I drive it into the ground. Price limit is 30k

If your looking for an American commuter car, Ford Fiestas are actually pretty nice for the money.

Well there is a guy I read about a few years ago that is retooling the hummer engines to get 35 mpg, he also runs them on oil from deepfryers. He was also building one to get 80mpg by adding a jet turbine to it, the idea was for it to click on, recharge the battery bank, and then click off.

If you really want efficiency and longevity get yourself an old diesel Volkswagon Rabbit. My dad had over 400k on his when he finally ditched it (90 miles each way to work everyday) and it was still running just fine. Also, they got like 45 mpg.
