well works 9 times out of 10 but, I guess what I would do is
say something like "Sorry I don't know if im ready for a long term contract yet"
or show u my Android and say something cheezy like "upgrades available babe"
or "Oh you have to pick that one up, I'll be holding it for you wink "
or show the phone and say "It's right here" as you put it in your paints" << ~~ gotta be carefull with that one might get slaped ~~

plus you dont buy the cheapest phone they make nice prepaid phones
