He doesn't need to say that. It's the "frog in the stewpot" trick that both sides of government like to play. Plant the seed, and eventually it will grow to become what you actually wanted.

You don't want state healthcare. You really don't, at least if you don't want your grand-grandchildren to pay for your health bills while getting shit healthcare cause someone has to pay your debts.

So the CBO came out and said in 10 years the deficit will be over $7 trillion. The Whitehouse released an estimate that it will be $9 trillion, so where are we cutting the deficit? Obama isn't cutting shit, this is a power grab plain & simple. It has NOTHING to do with people having Insurance or not.

The more comes out about what Obama is doing the more I have a bad feeling about where his TRUE intentions are. It's common sense, how can he say he's going to cut the deficit and then come out with a 10 year projection that we will be even more in debt up to $9 trillion. Does this raise a red flag to anyone else?

We can reform healthcare without tearing down the whole system then rebuilding into a socialist power grab. We can also make emergency pools for people that can't afford Insurance and help provide them with it. Again WITHOUT the government intervening and being the Insurer.

I know what It's like to not have Insurance and have a medical emergency occur. I had to have emergency surgery 4 years ago, I spent a week In the hospital and accumilated $10,000 in hospital bills. I had a third of it reduced from charity funds hospitals have in cases like mine. I paid the rest of it out of my own pocket. Yes it was a strain to have that extra cost. But I damn sure do not want some government official telling me what I can and can't do. As I said, Insurance and healthcare needs some kind of reform. But not a power grab the way this obviously is.

And SAlOCHIN, if your uncle needs Insurance...Oregan has a state ran Insurance. May try moving there then telling us how it all works out. I seen a story about a women in Oregan that had cancer and instead of giving her cancer treatment that costs $4,000 they denied the treatment and offered her a $50 drug that would end her life. Is that the kind of healthcare system you want?

Take a look at the VA if you want to see what government run health care is like. My nephew, a former Marine injured by a Marine DI in a training exercise where he had both shoulders broken, has about a 75% disability, can't raise his arms above shoulder level, but has been fighting the VA for 7 years to get the necessary orthopedic surgery needed to improve his range of motion. It has been an endless paperwork nightmare. In his experience, the VA has been a government health care non-provider.

And they want to do this for the nation as a whole? Fix the VA, fix Medicare and Medicaid (both of which are projected to be bankrupt in the next few years), and then get back to me before you want suggest expanding this goat fuck to encompass everyone.

To the everlasting glory of the infantry...

thats cos you live in the states where the government doesn't give a shit.

if you want to see a proper health care system look at Finland or Australia's not Canada's cos that shit shows going to be bankrupt in enough years, although we do have the option of going somewhere you have to pay for the surgery and then billing the government for it.

It's simple, give people the option to get healthcare ANYWHERE in the U.S. If you live in New York and you can find health Insurance cheaper in Texas then you should be able to do it.

That would be a free market option, either insurance companies will lower their price or go out of business for lack of customers. Now about pre-existing coverage I think Insurance companies should have to cover you or at least a portion. We have got to have tort reform, lawsuits and the cost of them get passed onto us the customer. There should be a cap on those. That would save a ton of money. Just doing this they could save enough money to finally be able to fix the VA and maybe have some left over to make a emergency insurance pool for those people that can't afford Insurance.

What Obama is wanting to do with our healthcare system is like taking a vehicle that's running very well and totally gutting it and putting something in it to make it run even worse than what was already there. It's simply nothing more than a powergrab, a way to get the government foot into YOUR door. $9 trillion, that's what the projected whitehouse deficit will be in 10 years. So how are we saving ANYTHING? And they want us to trust them... lol <shaking head>

THAT is a good idea - that will create more competition among health insurance agencies, which in turn creates a good chance that prices will be lowered.
