the mmorpg interview is long and full of info

Overall the vibe was positive. Tasos seemed enthused to be there, and didn't hold back much, but was often long-winded trying to convey points and such. Here's my notes:

-Preorder next week, "hopefully early"
-Incentives for people who bought 1, also incentives for people who didnt
ungeons still have portals for technical environmental reasons
-New rendering way for first person, feels a lot better, allows 1st person melee
-New over the shoulder camera option
-Warrior school in the near future after launch for mounted combat
-In essense, we have introduced moongates that will become hotspots,
portal chambers out in the open word that have predefined destinations
-Villages incentive to capture holding, ownership = resources, but only for
cities close by, as well as the cut of the rent, promote local competition
-Steam support has been amazing, DF in top 100 of all time already (whatever that means)
-The common school can be executed with empty hands
-Warrior skills with melee weapon, mage skills with staff, other schools are mixed
-Lots of small conviencences like this will be in the game
-Limbo NOT in game for launch, perhaps never, being reevaluted
-No crafting limits, but there won't be downtime like there was in 1. He went
into a speech about making sure we don't compare df1 to df2 etc.
-No local banking (duh)
-Interface not very customizable at the moment, can't move things around,
just havent had time, so what you see is what you will get
-Primalist not in @ launch, but 1st priority post launch, "right after",
not going to take long at all, right after they deal with launch issues
-No speed reduction running/swimming in heavy armour, not even considering
eclined question to talk about loot drops
-Not an auction house, it's a "market". Not at launch, it will be in game
you will be able to see it, but not operational. Won't make a big diff
in early days anyway.
-Account system is different, accounts and transfers will work differently
-1 account, characters on both servers!!!!
-Clan ranks have to do with performance during sieges, nothing to do with
bank/clan permissions

they have released a bunch of info over the last couple weeks. I cant help but feel like they are really trying to do things better this go round. With it on the steam greenlight it should stand a good chance at getting some new blood in it.
