Indeed. I've been hanging out in a twitch political channel and discord lately, that tends to lean pretty far left. Ok, really far left. The discourse I see there, and the social media they often reference indicates that.. yeah, snapping defeat from jaws of victory could easily be a *thing* if the voices I hear there happen to be representative of a large bloc of the party. Anecdotal evidence I see on a regular basis, such as the Politico article thus referenced, indicates that may be the case.

I hope it isn't. At this point, I'd just like to get a flawed president that doesn't do anything terribly stupid and appoints a reasonably competent cabinet. Some days it feels like too much to ask for.
