We don't know what the game mechanic will be around the cool down timer in order to swap out chosen skills. General hype is around 5 minuets for skills to be cycled. That being said, remember as of now there is no limit on how many skills you can master, just how many you can have active at one time. So you can switch out between roles as you like once you get more cycle time in on your toon between ingame xp and offline training.

What will have to find out is the xp curves so we know where to stop in a tree as dedicated enough to be effective before you start working a second or third role to load up on and swap out. In addition to what combination(s) early on will afford you the best chance to face rape and build off of.

Watch this podcast and it should start to answer some of your questions about mix and match weapon groups and classes.

Couple of take aways.

1) Maxs - One Max - Two Weapon slots - Mix Match how you like
2) Medics - AoE heal on a timer and heal and rez grenades.
3) Cloakers - With shot guns and quick knifes as of now
4) Resistance pools vs weapon type
5) Slots - by Groups: 2 Visual - 2 Component (Grips, Mags, Silencers, Buttstocks, Scopes, Barrels)all with iterations by faction. Not all weapons have all 4 Slots.
6) Missie Launchers - Target lock - Wire guided - Dumb fire
7) Jackhammer makes a comeback - Heavy Assault class tree (T-Ray calls it "The Tank") Hip fired weapon with customization (Infantry - AV)
