I think that time line is pretty accurate ... but I think it is short sighted on what the community really does & wants.

In a couple of months of ginding, you could get a few decent buffs, maybe 1 90 nuke, some decent HP, and a mele mastery up over 50.

Problem is ... most want to be able to cycle through a couple of high level nukes, get our bubble, confusion, necro debuffs ... etc, etc ... that just takes a ton of grinding.

But if you are a decent PvPer and really focus on 1 spell school + some mele ... you could be viable in that timeline:

50+ Pestilence + a few 100 firebolts, even splashed fireballs, and a few 2H mele hits would finish off just about anyone ... on paper at least.
