Ok, so this is a sincere question and I am seeking good feedback to prevennt problems;

So I have treated myself to a new DFO machine, and in the process, the new system will come with Windows Vista 64bit, SP1. Now, I have run XP and been resistant to upgrade to Vista cause some of my comps in the house that run it have serious connection issues and seem to run very slow (even dual core systems)

How does DFO work with Vista? Any problems or suggestions I should be aware of before this system arrives? I would appreciate some inisght, or shoul I just prepare myself now to wipe the hard drive and install XP? LOL, that will really suck cause the system will have so much memory that will now be wasted.

if you have 4 gigs plus it shouldn't be too much of an issue.

Too many people are buying Vista machines with XP's specs..bad idea. Visa simply uses more resources. Vista 32 bit is a bad idea all around.

HA..thanks man. Just curious. Appreciate the feedback cause I have hated on Vista for some time, but it appears I no longer have a choice and to get past the 3GB block, I needed a 64 system.

Yup..which is my new toys running system. I was just wanting to make sure that I would be able to easily download and run DFO on the new system. Thanks again for the feedback.

To add to the confusion: Windows 7 should be released this coming fall or early winter. My friend who has been testing it says that it has the great stability that XP had, but with the 64bit greatness, etc that Vista boasts, without the BS.

Yah..I understand it also runs very well on older systems, something that vista really does not do well as it is a resource hog. I am looking at downloading it onto one of my old systems to see how it runs..but all the stuff I am hearing is that they may actually have a real, solid, upgrade that is worth both the time and effort for once.
