Only Ryan/Romney plan to ALSO cut social nets and programs, so with R/R you have all the PAIN for no GAIN.

So you think we can afford these social nets with a projected $23 trillion by 2022? I believe in safety nets for SOME unemployment and limited welfare. Having a SAFETY net is needed, making either of those a career choice isn't. You want to add more tax revenue? Then our Government needs policies that help business's create jobs. Along with REAL TAX REFORM, not adding more taxes to the current fucked up mess.

As we seen with the $800 billion bill that Obama signed when he got into office that was supposed to help with creating jobs didn't pan out. Just MORE proof Government cannot compete with the private sector in creating enough jobs. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure this out.

It isn't. What kind of jobs matters - McJobs don't generate much tax revenue.

Also level of taxation also matters, you could have 0% unemployment but if your tax rates are too low you still can run deficit.




Yes, we need tax reform, and _INTEGRAL_ part of tax reform will be INCREASING TAXES, especially on the rich that are currently taxed at historically lowest rates. We, as a society, simply cannot afford such low tax rate.

Increased taxes without major spending and Fed reform is just throwing good money after bad though.

If the govt wanted to stop being stupid, maybe people would feel comfortable entrusting it with their hard earned money.

Imposing taxes right now is stopping offloading fiscal problem on future generation. If you are 60+ and oppose tax increase - fuck you!



It doesn't work that way. Money gets spent anyways, only on credit. By opposing tax increases for whatever reason you only making it much harder to repay in the future.

Taxes have to increased TODAY, not when you feel government spending meets your personal comfort level.

This is the main differnce between you and most of us as it comes to taxes, you see the government as a save all, know whats best for everyone resource. If you cut the budget you don't need to raise taxes.
