I like this one.
And yeah, you don't want to become Europe. Just to put things back in perspective in case you don't understand why, I'll take one of my first pay as an example.
My boss paid 3800€ for me to work there.
I received in my bank account 1930€.
The difference is for different socialist things.

Still, I had to pay 1700€ per year as income taxes.
And VAT on everything, 19.6% for almost everything, 5.5% on food, more than 300% on gas.

What do I get from this :
- lot of schools are free. But as almost none do any selection, french high schools are not really good
- universal health insurance. If you need glasses or dentals, you still need to get some plans from a private insurance company
- shitty army
- shitty police force which prefer to fuck honest citizen than pacify some area
- lot of museum and art thingy
- lot of money for elected officials
- did I speak about how there's only one city where everything is centralized ?
- and we have public transportation. When they're not on strike. And only in some cities
- the hope I'll have a pension when I hit some undefined age if there's enough people to pay it at the time I hit this age. Yeah, no one under 30 count on it atm.
