"Lumberyard" is what Amazon is calling their hosted AWS/Cryengine hosting/development system. It is the same Cryengine that Star Citizen is based off of, so I don't see how this is "starting over" in any way. Seems a very logical decision to change from Google -> AWS as far as that is concerned. I would think the only change would be in availability of services worldwide/bandwidth. Not sure what the differences there would be personally.
