Death panels, communism and all that hysteria."

Meh. One of the few things I would consider a positive change in
our country would be healthcare reform that was worth a damn.

I've been around long enough to see first hand what a single
hospital stay can do to folks. If your insurance isn't up to
snuff, the hospital may not even admit you to begin with.

Dad had more than a few hospital visits towards the end of his
life. Total bills for them were probably in the 1 Mil - 2 Mil
range. Easily. Hell, the bypass surgery alone checked in at
nearly half a million.

Mom was the same way. Last bill I saw while handling estate
matters was probably close to $200k.

Unless you're insanely rich, the average person just can't absorb
costs of that magnitude. Insurance will only cover so much and
the best insurance out there might cover 80-90 percent.

Do you have 50k just laying around to throw at a hospital bill ?
For ONE visit ? Especially when you know they're price gouging
the hell out of you ?

I know I don't lol

I get some terminal disease just let me die. At least I won't
go bankrupt AND die. Hate to think I worked my whole life just
to help fund the medical system :D
