Well the interesting paradox is that of the Future Rain-Maker himself...was he closing loops to protect his criminal empire in the future or was he closing loops to save his mother, and have her back..for a criminal master mind to have such a notion lends credence to the movie that gets a viewer to think hmm, perhaps the rain maker purposely set this chain of events in motion to rid his world of the crime associated with looping, if so not only was he seeking a small measure of redemption, but also the love of his mother. Then again he could have just been one mean ass sob.


I did not put too much thought into it as Looper certainly wasn't the most logical time travel sci-fi.

If you really want your mind blown, watch Primer. It's a real low budget (no special effects) movie on time travel and to this date the best done with real cause and effect.
