this is the actual client needed to play ultima online. make sure to patch the client. dont register the game, u wont need to.

next make sure to d/l uo razor, a free shard tool that makes logging and playing uo easier. for those who used uoassist before, its just like it. d/l link here: http://www.runuo.com/razor/
make sure you have Microsoft's .NET Framework installed before you try to install uo razor.

once everything has been installed and patched, run uo razor. once the razor screen has poped up, go to where it says "server", select "uogamers: hybrid(uor), and then hit connect. now all you have to do is enter a username and password and thats it. welcome to the best free ultima online server.

So yeah, I made a pre-made mage, and have no idea what the hell I'm doing. Can anyone suggest what stats to put into a custom mage, where to go when I start, what town to bind to, how to play, etc. ?

Played mostly fighters, myself, but for a mage, from what I remember, you'd want to put most of your stats to int and dex. To get some more current info, and some sample character builds, I'd suggest you go to Stratics. There is a ton of info there - check out the forums and they should be able to tell you everything you need to know.

I ran out of regeants to cast spells, have no idea what skills to train, where to level, got owned by the few mobs I found, barely have the hang of casting spells, have trouble ressurecting, and so on.

i use aim vent i can also get up icq going again if we need to.

uo is really easy if u have help but if ur alone its tough so hopefully u can get on by the time i get off at night so i can help ya out or find someone elese thats playin i know bandit and uber know how to make chars best thing would be to get in vent.

UO is expensive if you are starting out as a mage. My approach is to start off as a fighter/archer. You can kite mobs with your bow, finish with a sword/mace/etc, until you build up a cash flow. With fletching and lumberjacking, you can make your own bows/arrows. Once you get some gold, you can afford reagents to build your magery skill, and drop the other stuff when no longer needed.

UO isn't like WoW or other level games. You have a bunch of skills that you can mix and match as you see fit. Starting out, it is not a bad idea to work on a lot of skills to get going, and then later concentrate on what you need once you get established.

does this server have the lrc outfits ?
if youi can get a full lrc suit(lower regeant cost) you won't have to worry about regeants.
you can only case a certain amount of spells based on your skill if you are a nwe char you can't cast ress yet you can probably only cast up to lvl 4 or 5 spells.

You don't gain levels in uo it's all skill based Stratis has some good guides on how to raise your skills
