FedEx Express and several of its customers celebrated the carrier’s first 777 Freighter delivery on Tuesday. “The 777 Freighter is a game-changer,” said Michael L. Ducker, president, International, FedEx Express. Ducker noted that the airplane, with a 5,800 mile (10,740 km) range in FedEx Express operation, enables more point-to-point routes and shorter flight times to benefit international shippers, while providing excellent operational efficiency and environmental benefits. FedEx Express is the first U.S. cargo carrier to operate the world’s largest twinjet freighter. The carrier ordered 15 777 Freighters in 2006.
