An animated adaptation of novels by Tanaka Yoshiki , the same author of Legend of the Galactic Heroes , with the same animation of of LoGH anime, and the original Macross among others.

Though it is animated, dont mistake this for kids stuff - Tanaka Yoshiki is one of the foremost Sci-fi authors of our age, though his works are less known in the Western world than the Asimovs and Frank Herberts.

Speaking of Herbert, Yoshiki is about on par with that level of depth, and literary and philosophical complexity.

In any case, the best show of 2008/2009 anywhere, for those who like far future sci-fi is just gearing up ( currently the first 2 episodes have aired and been subbed) so I recommend grabbing it while the torrents are still hot.
