Hope someone can help me out with this problem.

I just installed a Geforce 7800GS AGP card in my machine. However I there is no red color at all. Everything else seems to work normal. I haven't tried any games yet tho.

I have a AMD Athlon 3200+ machine. 2 GHz processor. 2 gig ram.
Im using a Gigabyte K8 Triton K8NSNXP motherboard.

Any idea why there is no red color here? I have downloaded updated drivers from nvidia.com as well.

all help appreciated,

I unfortunately dont.

However I called the guys I bought the card from and they told me to send it back. BLEH.

This really sucks cuz the game could run a lil smoother on the laptop.

Well it's been like 4-5 years since I got a new computer apart from the laptop so I ended up ordering a whole new desktop machine online.

Here are the specs. Vanguard should run fine on this one right?

Intel Core 2 Duo Game-X PC
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 2.66GHz 4MB S-775
ASUS P5W DH Deluxe I975X S-775
4GB DDR2 PC6400 800MHz Corsair Twin
768MB ASUS GeF 8800GTX DDR3 PCI-E
320GB Maxtor 7200rpm SATA2
Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit (DK)
Creative SB X-FI Xtreme Music

Really looking forward to getting started on Vanguard. This is gonna be KGBs next big faction!!!

Sounds like you already have a "solution"

But "no red color" (or others) usually means a bad pin on the card/cable/monitor. Check for bent pins.

I typically run DVI to a LCD flatscreen, so I avoid analog connections if at all possible.

i would downgrade that to xp just because i hate vista down to the balls. i really hate vista sooo much. but then again theirs not alot of other stuff out there thats better. except maybe for ubuntu but you cant play vanguard on that or much of anything else.

Those are almost the exact same specs as my new machine. >D

I'm going XP x64 though. I'm not exactly sure yet if I'll be kicking myself later or not.

XP x64 is far and away the best OS MS has ever produced.

Its fast, its stable, it has all the important 64bit features. The ONLY thing it doesnt have is DX10, and the ONLY reason it doesnt is so MS can rip you off for 300$ for a Vista that was designed to please Big Media, and Big Hardware. (ie: it runs like shit).

/rant off

But yeah, XP64 is the way to go.
