While doing research of a stabbing I came across this book. Written in 1901 of an enlisted soilder view of the civil war. Why he joined, and where he fought. It starts in my home county and you can see how the mood of a young man changes with time to exposure to war, to dieses, to starvation, and many other things that war brings about. I have yet to finsih reading it. But I was so moved by this young mans tale, written by him as an old man, and the comparsion of life as a professinal soilder from 150 years ago to my own exprinces of serving my country.

I feel anyone that has served will find this a great read. And anyone who did not serve, a take on life and war, from the view point of a common man, tobe worth wild and a great investment of your time.
