2/27/09 – A day that will go down in KGB history

A little back ground to begin with. The server came up around 9:30 PST after being down for over 24 hours. Going into this evening there was already a lot of frustration about the overall Darkfall experience so far. This was about to change.....

Objective #1 – Use the V keys! – Method: Donk - Kamakazee

We were a little spread out through the starter cities at first. Donk, Heidi, Jet, Hare, Romeo (need all the names here) were meeting in in upper Yishku (sp?) to then head out to the V key dungeon. As we ran to find the dungeon we discussed strategy and Donk would hold the keys while others ran in and took aggro. It took a while to find the chest but Donk was able to use both keys and escape with an extra 2k gold and some loot. (Hey Jet add more here because I was not actually in the dungeon – share the mobs, the excitement etc I was still trying to catch up to u lol)

This took from about 9:30 pm PST til 11:30 pm PST

Objective #2 – Farm Gold – Method: Newb Quests

From successfully using the V keys we all met up in Upper Yishku. We got the newb quests and zerged them. Many people around the gobs – but KGB had the numbers, not to mention the wicked awesome ninja looters. Donk had a great idea here. Anyone ninja loots our kill and each person go grey with one hit on them. People were running around so confused it was hilarious. They go grey and then all of a sudded 10-12 people hit him once each? Yeah I would be running away too. We got enough kills and axes to continue on through the grinding quests and then was time for the 1 hour times goblin quest. At this point Arkh was on and told us of a much better spawn. We followed him and he was so right. Tons of gobs, less camped and all of us got our kills with time to spare. During this venture someone thought it would be a “wise” thing to attack Donk. Donk starts to deal with her and then calls in for the help. Jet, Heidi, (a couple others can’t remember who can you?) pursued the bitch and took her down. She had so much stuff on here they spend a solid 3 minutes just looting. The goblin spawn also had a weapons rack nearby so it was very worth the little extra time running there. At this point we all made a run back to the bank to sell and see how much we had made. After the last person had turned over their hard earned cash we had just over 10k!

Objective #3 – Operation Clan Stone – Method: Escort Jet safely to city

This is where we began to get the true feeling of “the good ol days”. You remember the butterflies, hoping not to get killed while carrying precious cargo. Jet had the all important 10k clan stone. 1st we headed to bind at a point nearest to the city (city name?). Next we met up with Arkh and Donk, Hare and Romeo. As we get to the coast and are on the final leg of the run Thomas was about 1 minute behind us started getting PKd. Donk pulled off to help and the rest of us charged on in. Jet used the stone and the city was ours!!!! With out time for celebration we all immediately left to go assist Donk and Thomas. Some how the pricks lost us in a spawn of centours and other creatures that were besting us. After regaining our composure we all had time to celebrate and enjoy a nights hard work. What an amazing team effort and one that I personally will never forget.

I learned several things about KBG this night.
- Never underestimate our leadership in Jet
- Never Fuck with Donk in PVP (It is like playing call of duty on veteran mode: you will not survive)
- Never underestimate the sneakiness of Arkh (that dude appears out of thin air I swear)
- Most of all I learned that we have what it takes to fight as a team, to work as a team and to give as a team. There was not one selfish act this night and it showed in our end result.

I got up this morning at 3:30am to get ready for work, I didn’t go to bed til 5:30am. 26 hours of no sleep has never been more worth it smile This is the first step of many and what a night it was.
