Black Desert Online
Node Wars Testing Week #2

This is a snapshot of our finished Node Fort + defenses from today's skirmish.

In today's test there were some pretty severe lag-spikes on the server we were playing on. The issues started WAY before the actual combat itself, so I think something else must have been going on. Perhaps the developer left a lot of debug flags enabled in the code or something to track issues?

Regardless of the issues; KGB represented well and our knights proved victorious! There was a LOT of carnage on the battlefield - and even with the sync issues (rubber-banding) everyone seemed to have a GREAT time with the combat itself. Additionally, as of today guild house auctions have opened up. We were not able to score one today, but moving forward we hope to get one and be able to start working on taming and using War Elephants for future conquests!

This is a screenshot of the Node Fort when we first started working on it. Once the foundation is put down our members assign workers to the job site. Here, you can see our members "workers" assembling the components necessary in order to get it put together. Once the Node Fort is up, the defenses can be put into place.

Tomorrow (July 4th) we will be placing another Node Fort and taking our own node. This will give the KGB faction additional earned currency from taxes levied on players buying/selling/earning in our "node". After talking with alliance members today, we can expect to see our bank vault grow pretty quickly as a result.

The latest expansion "Valencia" has opened up and this is quite literally "doubling" the area for gameplay, questing, and content! The Black Desert itself is a desert biome, so has some survival mechanics and gameplay requirements built-in. Camels and elephant mounts are part of this expansion as well as whaling as a gathering/hunt mission. Whales show up like a "world boss" and are announced to the whole server as being "spotted" in a region or the ocean. Players then drive boats out into the ocean and hunt them down as a group and compete to get them first! Fishing mechanics and many other changes have happened in-game over the past 2 weeks of massive updates and content releases.

Former players or new players are welcome to join in the fun! There really are not any level/gear requirements to actually participate in a Node War itself. There is is certainly plenty for people to do or work on to help keep our node intact! For example a level 1 player can still man a flame tower and ROAST enemies alive! The front line combat-arms folks do have some tighter requirements for combat; but if you are interested in helping out or want to give BDO a try - let us know in the Black Desert Online Forum!
