Even though it was all or nothing, was still pretty easy to get it down to 184B, just a tad over revenue.

The biggest laugh is the amount that goto bureaucrat salaries... we have approx 1.5m active duty men under arms, yet their salaries are a fraction of the rest of the Fed Govt salaries.

Go figure.

That's because the average salary of a bureaucrat sitting on their ass in Washington, or around the country, in an air conditioned office is over $70,000 while the average salary of a man or woman risking their life for each of us is about $20,000. Juxtapose those numbers and we'd solve a bunch of problems.

I was able to get the expenditure down to $139B without batting an eye or cutting into military salaries, IRS refunds (which is NOT an expense, its money they should never have had) or social security. Never mind the fact that this is a very elementary exercise since we're only allowed to completely cut things rather than cut parts of them.

First, I would enact Martial Law, and suspend the Congress and House. Then in the next 90 days I would completely ratify and nuke every bullshit loophole porkbelly law out there and the tax codes for private and public, then finally I would embargo China and we would trade Food for debt reduction and place a fair and equitable tariff on all imports.

Then I would attack the Banks and Wall Street and remove the shell game going on in World Banking and the speculation that drives common commodities.

After that, I would address the regulation of multi-media to break the Oligopoly present and force competition in the market place and then Nationalize the backbone infrastructure to include the Power Grind, Water Services, Rail Services, Air Traffic Control, and Digital Communication.

Then I would address funding of campaigns to include a complete and total redo of the system. The Federal Government would now provide campaign funding at an equal level to include access to air time and force Candidates into actual "truth in campaign" reforms to include stiff prison sentences for those that break the code and requirements of Constitution for which they swear to uphold.

I would then decentralize our military presence all over the world and force the rest of the world and the UN to police itself in there own matters. I would counter this with a massive spending campaign on over the horizon force projection (See US Naval Fleets) which would allow for a Military presence w/o the massive redundant cost structure of the current 5 Branches of the Service we have now.

Then we would get to the real good part, a two class system. Citizen or Civilian, the decision is yours. Basic human rights and services provided to all, with advanced rights and services to those Civilians who choose to serve the Republic and EARN the right to be called a Citizen of the USA.

Finally, I would abolish the ridiculous drug laws on the books and legalize, regulate, and tax the production of Hemp and Marijuana, to include the release of all inmates serving time for only Marijuana related crimes.

Why do you numbskulls think making marijuana legal and taxing it is going to fix everything? Seriously, making it legal would just open up everyone growing their own. You would have a vegetable garden and a weed garden. People would buy it and pay the tax. But many more would grow their own. Especially if was anything near expensive. I don't care if it's legal or not, I just find it hilarious that it's part of a solution that would actually make things a lot better. Sorry but it won't.

If you want pot to be legal, make the case for it, but don't try to attach it to a debt solution like some under the table pork barrel project...

Just set weed under the same set of regs that tobacco falls under. Will some ppl grow their own? Sure. Will not help Fed problem, as it would and should be a State level issue. Could also regulate and tax it like alchohol. Either way.

It should be legal, because making it illegal does not seriously effect usage levels... it just costs a fuckton of tax money and public resources investigating, prosecuting and jailing offenders.

Keeping it criminalized also inordinately funds organized crime, and is a corrupting factor on law enforcement.

Pot use cant be stopped, it just cant. Whether it should be or not is moot and irrelevant. Keeping it criminalized is simply more hassle and expense than it is worth.

And there, in a nutshell, is why it will never be legal.

Too may people depend on the income the "war on drugs", including weed, provides.

Trickle down economics? Yep and just think of all those people who are out there daily fighting to eliminate pot from the streets, homes, etc. That's a TON of money in wages, assets, etc that if suddenly gone (specifically just for pot mind you) things start to break down.

It's so large now that stopping it all together by legalizing it would have worse effects than the drug itself.

Maybe temporarily, but since we are actually having our "drug war" financed by China - long term we would certainly be better off if we stopped spending money on it.

You are right about the political difficulty regarding the situation though. Lots of people interested in keeping the gov't money flowing. There is also a large segment of industry that does not want to have to compete with hempen products.

Funny thing Kaotic, I heard some dumbass on the radio try to say if we legalized pot and taxed it, that within a few years the debt would be wiped out from the tax revenue. I know one thing, if politicians ever thought that would be a possibilty to get that kind of massive revenue. Then pot would have been legal a LONG time ago. I have nothing against pot, I've smoked it, no big deal.

Is it going to solve the budget issue? Absolutely not. Could it add another $40-100 Billion a year into the Fed Tax Coffers, you damn well bet it would.

This would as well have a lateral effect on Crime in the US as more prison space would be freed up to house inmates for longer periods of there sentence and allow for more criminals of other crimes to take the place of those not being arrested for possession of marijuana based on the new laws that would have to be passed.

So the argument of the Prison Industry loosing money is total bullshit.

Well I got banned from some french forum when I tried to speak about weapons and how it's better to let people defend themselves. Your 80%... well we're not far in here for what should be the middle class.

Before I see my salary, 49% of it is taxed.
Then I get income taxes, around 9% of what was left. So that's already 52.8% taxed. Add our mighty VAT which should be around 20% (19.6% for everything but food, 70%+ for fuel) and you get around a 60% taxed SOB. That's how the median and mean revenue of retired people is now higher than the one of working ones. Our country has been jacked by the baby boomers : they got laws which protected their job until retirement (creating lot of unemployment), crazy pensions when you learn what they had to pay for it, they added lot of laws on what people can build and where so the housing prices are skyrocketing (and guess who own those houses) and they brainwashed our generation thanks to a lock-on the school system and media to think all this is normal and good for everyone.

Our "right" is far left of your left on the socialism vs liberty scale.

Even my parents are from that generation but my father is more, if you can imagine, like what we speak here. Honest day's work for honest days pay.. Been screwed out of 2 pensions by collapsed markets/businesses and he's just a skilled laborer w/ his journeyman papers (machinist)

Seriously tho your statement about GenX (which I think was my generation, I thought, I'll have to confirm) isn't this way. We are just now coming into power, since I'll be 40 next year (I think) but the generations AFTERWARDS are the ones who want everything for no work.

I'm talking about those kids now-a-days who won't work at McDonalds or work on the farms like I did when I was a kid. I was picking tomatoes, bailing hay and everything else around age 11-12 and I've not stopped since.

I found out at an early age I didn't want to do those types of jobs but have had the full gambit of jobs over the years from those tomato picking to meat packing/slaughter to photo journalist (side-bar with the AP in mid 20's). I've really never NOT worked and to see the later generations expecting it all for nothing irritates the shit out of me.

Again, for those boomers it's not everyone and I understand that (alas my father/mother as examples) but you have to admit (I hope) that those few generations around those time frames really stank up the system bad, no? (lol)

The Fair Tax Act should do the trick. This way, EVERYONE pays the same tax, EVEN illegals! It's not a flat tax on income, it's a tax on what you buy. Now that's REAL change. Instead of the same old bullshit of blaming someone else for your own faults. Something both parties are doing. I'm sick of both sides, they keep playing that old Washington tune. It's time we make them play some different music. We can get the popcorn out and watch them fuck up the system with this debt dealing they are doing. I looked over the salestax plan at the fairtax.org site... cant say I am impressed TBH. That would be a compliance nightmare. Pretty soon everyone would be buying black market shit, as opposed to paying 30% sales tax. How would you track real vs paid value? I mean, who hasnt sold a used car and reported the sale at a much lower cost than was paid?

I much favor the flat 15% income, 10% Capital Gains tax system. Keep that until debt is paid down, then lower the flat income rate to 10%.

You do know Wolf, that a fair portion of that spend on Obama's watch is coming from including the cost of the wars in the budget expense reporting.

Where as during the Bush years, he chose to have the cost excluded from the budget expense reporting.

Last time I checked, the wars started under the Bush regime. Now Obama has had his own spending issues with his National Health Care initiative and his extension of the Bush Era tax cuts. Those two key items have added to the spend deficit considerable.

Which means he shouldn't have ran with the health care till he had it under control.
