lol, you're assuming you'll be in the first wave of beta testers If you think about the DF devs can keep their promise to start beta pretty easily... all they have to do is let in like 5 people and say, "Ok beta has started with a 'Phase 1' group of 5 people, keep watching our web site for when 'Phase 2' will start, at which time we'll add another 10 players!"
