Interesting article over on TIME.

Nothing we already don't know but it does throw the problem into
the spotlight for all to see. Not a fan of Government
involvement but I do make an exception in the case of health
care.

Unless you have an insane amount of wealth to back you up, or
a crazy good insurance program to foot the costs, a single
trip to the hospital can bankrupt most folks almost instantly.

You can fight the charges of course, but the hospitals have a
bad habit of harassing you for the rest of your damn life
until they get paid. Even if you have partial insurance to
cover most of it.

God forbid you get laid off and have no insurance when you
get hospitalized. You'll never get out of that debt, assuming
the hospital will even admit you at all. :|

The system, as it stands today, is why I'll never undergo any
sort of treatment plan should I contract some crazy ass
terminal illness. It would wipe all I've worked for over the
years for a -possible- increase of available lifespan. Not
necessarily a quality one at that. . .

Click on the TIME link above and give it a read. It's
certainly an area where the US is far from being number one in
the world. ( unless you're talking greed )
