He definitely writes a good article, I like how he keeps you reading with starting each paragraph with
"You don’t need fantasy but..."
"You don’t need levels but..."

It's almost like he's going against his own idea yet once you finish reading the sentence you see the point he's making.

But like Owain said, for all the wisdom he's seemingly spilling out to us, it's mostly/sorta shot down by successful examples like Eve or early UO. Not that he doesn't have great ideas, but it shows even he doesn't understand it all and the perfect game is still lost someplace out there.
