I think you are right. The Stanton system forgot about that. Hard to pay attention to names when you have pretty graphics being shown off during a live stream.
I wonder I expect you could still make it to those smaller worlds without jumping right? Otherwise certain ships are really limited from a few planets. There really isn't that many small jump points, but quite a few medium that can alter traffic patterns.
After looking at this map not as many alien planets as I thought. How is the UEE losing against 7 planets.
nope you need jump routes to travel star to star most systems have multiple planets so it not that bad also the main UEE trade hubs are on the same large jump route and close togeather
not sure if there are 3 fixed sizes of jump routes or if is a sliding scale there maybe a few medium routes that if you are a good / desperate pilot you will be able to take an idris down.
7 known systems of hostile aliens I am impressed that the UEE managed to sneak in a survey craft into Caliban and Virgil long enough to find the jump route to the next system for all we know there could be a 100 system empire linked to Viking
I would expect ships not capable of making there own jumps will have to use the jump lanes. Ships that have been to the jump point destination and have jump ship capability can navigate there own jumps with limitations (distance, direction).
CiG already stated early on they didn't want to see people camping jump gates akin to EvE, which is also why they believed in instancing early on.
I am sure that no ships can make their own jumps the jump drives on the ships open up the jump routes if you don't have a jump drive you don't leave the system
the way they are going to stop gate camping is to simply make the jump entrance/exit it zones cover a large area
"There isn't one standard exit position where you come out of a jump point. You'll get spit out in a general area near the space anomaly, so you probably won't have the same ability to camp on the spot like you would have done in another game that has one specific exit point. We're pretty conscious of that as we want it to be fun"
the above quote is old and dates back from wingmans hanger ep19
