Is it time to mothball the faction and make it open?

Open would mean you are all free to join other orgs and I would keep KGB in a minimalist mode until the situation changes.

Are you saying there isnt enough people active to keep the guild running? .. im not 100% what the question is?

I have voted ...

Opening the faction will let kgb members find a mote active clan in dfuw without leaving kgb to do it we have about 5 actives atm and not close to enough to accomplish anything

The question is in relation to the KGB DFUW faction only and not KGB as a whole. As Morlander said, it would allow those that still play and enjoy DFUW to play with other clans, while still retaining their KGB membership.

In a closed faction, a KGB member cannot be tagged under any other clan except for KGB, while in an open faction, a KGB member can join other clans while still playing as KGB in other games and retaining their forum member access.

Here is my plan for mothball.

Transfer the keep to JetStar.
Deactivate all non-essential accounts (Leave Bartender Active)
Leave all core characters in KGB Guild

Open Faction so all members can join other organizations.

Take it one step further. Contact EVERYONE you can with questions as to what happened, what they felt happened and see if there is anything in that which KGB can fix. If not, proceed. if it's fixable, refocus and do so.

We all know game mechanics bull. If the issues are not that, then they are most likely fixable with a refocus, outlined goals and actions designed to meet those goals.

All in all, perhaps to little to late, but there you have it.

Desire to log in is the biggest problem I have heard.

I'll send out a feedback form also to collect ideas and reasons.

I have been playing in odd hours being in afghanistan ... but have been playing, in every game theae days you will have your initial push or core people... then it will diminish, as a leader myself of soldiers i feel i can relate or give input on this subject. For an organization to continue to develop it requires the leaders to motivate people to accomplish things ... for kgb it would have to be more along the lines of .. what is it that people desire and how can the leadership push people. Also ranks will diminish.. but there are/ have been a lot of new players in the game.. everyday i see new people asking for help and guidance.. and everyday i have assisted the best way i could.. what does this mean to us? As a guild there are people out thwre to fill the ranks .. people that need upper echelon help to give guidance or help out with farming... if your a leader in kgb then imho you should be a DFUW community leader as well... you will find the peiple we need and dedicated players looking for a home.. all in all.. it takes people stepping up and doing leadership/mentoring people.. guiding new players and refilling the ranks.. at the same time finding out how we can motivate veterans to stay or to log on.
Practice raids
City demoliahing
Guild pve runs
KGB paladins rape session against high end guilds... this one is more motivating than most for the vets i believe... give those vets and good pvpers a mission.. find the best and fuck them up

Just my opinion

What do you think about weekly activity ultimatums to assess activity / dedication.
1. Weekly resource fee. This can be used to assist new playera and ensure a stock of basic itema are ready.

2. Raid status. Biweekly manditory raid. You miss more than 4 a month .. c ya. I duulnno.. just ideas.. i want to see everyone succeed. End state

Wow. Not wanting to sound too negative, but I'm glad I decided to wait to see how the game would be 6 months after release before trying to go in seriously. 5 months in and it's already open faction time.
Posted By: agony Re: Mothball Time? - 09/19/13 06:20 AM
Damn phone.. posted same shit twice..

Here is the deal imho. There are other games that have come out that people are exploring... no big deal... play them.. we are gamers... but we need a schedule for specific raid times or group pve times..
Everyone knows this game is bad ass... the game is fun.. there ARE a shit ton of new players in game.. there are things to do.. help get these new peoplr pvp ready.. help get go bags with nothing but top end gear... .. when i get back to states god damnit im going to dominate.. im going after those who think they are good and going to fuck them up ... and im going to so it with a fucking kgb tag over my head.

thats what happens when noone wants to plays the game anymore due to inactivity/lack of new content
and if i recall u didnt wait to play it you talked mad shit about it every chance you got without ever trying it

u needed a log in and win game was how i remember it something that took no effort
remember? not one that you actually had to play to have a decent character

Its past 6 mos old and beta players been here over a year.... it far outlasted any of kgbs recent factions.....which isnt saying much

The game was super fun for 6 months. Some of the most memorable times in a mmo for me. I'm sure I will be back when AV releases some more classes etc

I would say you missed out. DF2 was drastic improvement over DF1. Unfortunately it suffered from the same flaws.

Activity down across all clans, not just KGB. I think population crashed right after devs went on extended vacation. Last two weeks I don't even bother to recall to town to bank while harvesting until full, nobody even rolling harvesters.

DISCLAIMER: This is not me ripping on the game or faction but just reporting what I'm hearing.

The word I keep getting from the movers and shakers of the clans is that everyone is still pissed that the devs are pretty much doing more of the same. Especially now with the asian launch and all that jazz people still feel like it is an incomplete game and have finally had enough.

Couple that with GTA5 release and general game ADD and I think that about sums it up.

GW2 put out some pretty nice updates and I know many went to go check them out to get their quick fix for sieging play in.

that sounds about right Donk, BF4 coming next month too, so that will be something to tinker with for casual play

their devs are shady sobs as well im still 100% convinced they deleted a siege we dropped cuz one of the devs is friends with the asshole leader of the clan we dropped on
no bullshit im convinced lost minions had help to get our seige deleted tyheir leader openly admitted it to several people.

the devs responces and their behavior where so suspect when i dealt with them on it in the end alot of the game died for me when that siege was deleted.... i had a fun few months since then but in the last month soo many people have stopped playing from sheer boredom it finally became very hard to logm in and play at all in the last 2 weeks sit there and be the only one online a lot...

the games incomplete and people have done it all at this point unfortunately untill the games complete it will stay that way and may forever due to losing their launch player base
we will see

AV is full of shit. I doubt I ever play a game made from this company ever again. They must not like money, because the game had so much potential but they just pissed it all away.

I'm still working like crazy, I had to even work last sunday. It doesn't look like it's going to get any better. I probably will play some BF4, how much will depend on how many hours I am working.

I tried it during beta (how would I know about the UI otherwise) and after being asked to, I abstained to post negative comments about the game.

I like PvP, not farming a character in a PvP game.
If my not shitty FPS skills mean for you that it would be a log to win game for me, thanks for the compliment.

But I'm gonna reiterate my view: all PvP skills and power should be available the moment you login (like in good FPS). The farming and effort part should be only about resources to craft your gear and controlling land, building fortresses, destroying other people shit.
I want to be able to give any item I busted my ass for to a friend trying the game 5 years after release and he being able to use it right the moment he logs in. Not after 1 month of grinding a toon.
I think there would be more effort to get on top when a group of newbz can gang up on you, kill you, use your gear to ambush your friends more effectively than when you have the "I played 1 year so I win" button.

Here's my two main reasons why I stopped playing.

1. I was getting tired of looking at AV's content release schedule and being constantly disappointed.

2. Sieges were my favorite part of the game and I could only get 1-10 fps in them.

The game was some of the most fun I've had in a mmo though. I would want to play again if they released all the content and if I was able to upgrade my PC.

Actually FPS skills do not translate that well into DF PvP ability. Sure, being able to hit matters, but it isn't the same toolset your typical FPS promotes.

The best analogy would be Quake3 rocket jumping fights. Not CS scout sniping.

Tribes:Ascend then: almost no hit rays, lot of movement and teamplay.

I had fun while I was playing it, but that's just the nature of many games. Seen it happen many many many times in the past.
Posted By: Zen_Pollo Re: Mothball Time? - 09/21/13 11:18 PM
alas, my gaming was curtailed for a few reasons:

1) I moved twice, sold a house and bought a new one over the Summer. Real Life took all my time.

2) My laptop is just too far behind the tech curve to play this game. I was getting 1-10 FPS and 200 ping regularly in this game. It was just unplayable during a fight.

3) I suck at PvP and FPS games. I enjoy the danger, but I just don't have the skill. I was hoping to be a crafter but that wasn't a viable option for me.

In any case, recently I started logging again but few folks are around. Oh well...maybe next game!
