This is why you fail, call me when KGB has it figured out.

I don't get it. Do you mean when KGB learns to make a video of random shots of a video game with cool music or Al Pacino talking.

Awesome, now that's how you motivate people!
facepalm

Drakis are you pro-goon? That makes me a sad panda!
Posted By: Kaotic Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/03/13 05:55 PM
I think what he's saying is, in order to win at Planetside 2 you have to listen to Led Zepplin and watch football movies. Either that or you have to belong to the zerg.

It would be much more fun to have a larger group, but my bro and I are having a blast and I am level 29.7.

I was going to try and get a few folks online on a specific day.

This is a neat idea! It would be cool to try it with PS2, as well as other games. If advertised properly, it could help draw people to play the same game and be in the same voice server at the same times. Since we don't have 1 good game to focus the entire guild's efforts on right now, we should try to organize event nights like this. Maybe a KGB event calendar would help keep it organized?

I think some important details to include in each event would be:
- What game is being played
- What time the event starts (including timezone)
- If the event has an estimated end-time or if it's for the entire night
- What voice chat/server is being used and which channel(s) to join
- Who is organizing the event
- Who is welcome to join (KGB only, KGB+friends, any/all, other guilds specifically invited, etc)
- What level is required to participate, if any (or other prerequisites)

Great. I will post something for a weekly meeting in game. Maybe we can fill a sunderer, or get 4 gunners in a galaxy!
Posted By: JetStar Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/10/13 11:51 PM
I think what Drakiis was trying to say is that he was going to leave the KGB outfit in PS2 for a more organized and serious outfit to fit his play style.

He did actually execute the move shortly before or after the original post.

KGB PS2 is an open faction and I hope he finds what he is looking for.

On another note, I was very inspired by our first PS2 Saturday Night and am looking forward to the next one.
Posted By: Sethan Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/11/13 12:54 AM
I understand wanting to move on to a larger more organized group within your favorite game more than you might think. But why come shit on your faction in the forum?
Posted By: Slinger Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/11/13 02:47 AM
Because Drakiis likes to shit on everything. When you see that he's made a fresh one, just put newspaper over it and move to another thread. That's what I do. ;)
Posted By: Stubs Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/11/13 02:43 PM
I dunno. You don't need to belong to the zerg to roll with it. I find its better to be part of a small, organized force that rolls with the zerg. Having the autonomy to break off and do smaller yet important objectives is good. We had a blast going that on Saturday. I was on for awhile on Sunday and was trying to get my PUG to work like that. Unfortunately I am to low level to have some of the needed tools to provide a good squad environment.

Saturday was great. I'm usually busy till 11est Saturdays but I can't wait for next Saturday.

Goons arent even on Connery so I'm not sure why he chose that video unless he's rolling NC on Matherson as well. He could have just kept his guy in KGBx. Maybe that video inspired him to join a larger outfit /shrug. Makes me sad.
Posted By: JetStar Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/11/13 08:38 PM
We are on Waterson?? I think Drakiis was frustrated with me, the KGB system, and the lack of participation in PS2. Unlike others, Drakiis retains his membership and will return at some point perhaps.
Posted By: Drakiis Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/12/13 02:11 AM
All conjecture and trolling aside (which I was under the impression KGB disapproved of so the irony is pretty thick here) I am not with the Goons, yes I am with another outfit, yes KGB let me down, but more so I let KGB down just the same, and instead of bashing my guild that I love, instead of waiting for the impossible to happen, I thought before I went off to play with another outfit I would try and show the massive scope of the game, the possibilities, the epic scale of the game to those here, and why we will not be a factor in PS2 because we do not have enough committed players. People can assume what they like, and Tas leaving was a blow to me, though I feel he has found his gaming utopia, I have a seriously ugly love of this guild and so I remain, waiting, watching, hoping, and maybe one day I'll be able to play here again. Roll that up in your newspaper and smoke it.
Posted By: Hare Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/12/13 08:00 AM
I would roll with you anytime Drakiis. Enjoy yourself in PS2.
Posted By: Slinger Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/12/13 12:46 PM
Oh, come on, Drakiis... I was just answering Sethan's question. You and I are in the same boat, really. You just make more noise about it than necessary, and people wonder about all the commotion.

If you find a truly interesting group to play with, you should invite KGB to tag along sometime. It's all faction vs faction, so there's nothing stopping us from rolling around together. It's understandable that you need a larger group to play with, especially if you're putting way more hours into the game than anyone else in KGB.
Posted By: JetStar Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/12/13 08:38 PM
Actually at level 31 I think I have him beat, but maybe not.
Posted By: Drakiis Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/12/13 11:00 PM
BR 45 Cmd at 15%, Outfit to Outfit only works if you have something to bring to the table, the Outfit I am with sports two platoons worth (80+ peeps) on the weekends, and a platoon+ weekdays, they interact with three other outfits and coordinate where possible, those outfits generally have similar numbers. The fights we fight are generally the hard ones the zerg refuses to attend on continents heavily controlled by the other factions. So if your looking for me, look on continents that are not populated by the NC Faction. Last night we were contesting the crown, and were fighting on two fronts as TR and VS encircled us we held the crown for two hours while completely cut off, we were then retasked to push back enemy forces surrounding the NC Warp Gate while allies followed up with heavy air campaigns. We got ambushed in a deep gorge near the crater by well organized TR where I scored many kills with my Anti Personnel Lightning, and managed to get in behind several TR APCs before heavy armor arrived to support my position. That was a perfect night, and while not every night is perfect 75%-85% of them are.

You and I sling are not even on the same planet let alone in the same boat when it comes to KGB.
Posted By: JetStar Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/13/13 06:08 AM
45! You have been playing lots. Congrats.

We are enjoying our 1 team night a week and don't "have something to bring to the table" in your definition. I enjoy the game very much and even more with some friends. The causal "fun" nature appeals to me.

Best of luck in your outfit.
Posted By: Stubs Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/13/13 12:47 PM
I found a platoon that's run by n outfit. They run the squads and one squad is outfit only but the others are open. When I log on and there are no KGB on I join up and roll with these guys. The squads are usually listed as something Mad Hats. I'm up to br9 and have 110 certs saved up. Can't decide where the best place to put em is.

I saw you on the other night Drak, but you didn't respond to the pms I sent.
Posted By: JetStar Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/13/13 11:21 PM
Hey Stubs, I would pimp out an HE lightning. Also pimp out a Sunderer so when I die we can take yours.
Posted By: Drakiis Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/14/13 01:24 AM
Sorry Jet that was a typo, I'm BR35 not 45....jeebus I wish I was, but I am gaining fast now about a 100 certs a night, and never seem to have time to spend them as I am now 165 certs and no idea what to spend them on.

I would invest in the soldier...pimp out a fire arm you like I recommend looking at all the weapons that are locked to you and find one that you want to invest certs in, I recommend you invest in increasing your armor, and your class specific abilities as they will earn you certs even if you are not killing people, I could spend all day as a Engineer fixing shit for exp/cert gain, I carry a Carbine that has a underslung grenade launcher, a muzzle break, softpoint ammo, a reflex sight, I have a enhanced shield capacitor and carry either mines or grenades. Once your soldier is set with say 2-3 classes then start working on vehicle crap, otherwise you'll run out of resources to pull vehicles and have no personal abilities to fall back on. Sorry I missed you stubs, if I had seen it I would definitely have said something, but the game is all action so I was more then likely acting as a bullet cushion. I made the mistake of pimping out a vehicle early on and paid the price as I was constantly killed, vehicle certing is less efficient, cert in a couple of classes and I bet you'll do better then I have. some of the outfits make public squads to encourage recruitment, and fill in gaps or holes in their platoons, DRev does as well.

One platoon is still a good showing, just not enough to play with the big dogs, but enough to take out lying control points and installations. If all 48 KGB that have tried the game all decided to play at the same time, that would be something...
Posted By: Stubs Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/14/13 01:56 AM
Yeah, i actually spent the points this afternoon. I love playing healers so im beefing out my Medic first. I dont want to waste time certing into a new gun, although i almost took the Gauss with Burst Mode for 100, but i already sank 50 into the regular, so i decided to stick with it. If i fully pimp it out and it sucks, ill look into getting some SC and buying a new gun.

I made the same mistake in PS1, going for vehicles and didnt want to do that here, although certs seem easier to come by stuff costs more, and everything costs. I can always pull a vanguard but its nowhere near as good as someone who specced it.

I figure i can pull flashes all day and roll whereever im needed, if i cant just spawn there.

As for being a bullet cushion my comp is pretty good but sometimes the fps drops and my already semi decent fps skills turn into SHIT fps skills. I think my K/D ratio is like .2356 or something. Its fun though I log in play for a few hours till dying gets me frustrated and then i log out.

War, that is what I am passionate about. It is what I always thought KGB was about as well. I now feel as though you should only break me out in case of war, otherwise in peace I am nothing more then an annoyance and a useless relic.
Posted By: JetStar Re: This is how PS2 is played - 02/14/13 05:27 PM
I have pimped out my engineer and my heavy with great options on the EM1. I have all the mines for my engineer, and have invested big into the Piston. If I am doing ranged I drop a turret. The armor turret is good too. I have invested in an infiltrator to the point where he can hack and kill.

THe most fun thing for me recently is to use my anti air Sunderer with 2 anti air maxes inside. You just need 4 people. I am using the new flack guns. Partnered with the two guns and two maxes, you can WASTE just about any plane. Sunderers are total magnets for air, and they are real surprised when 2 maxes come out and the two guns start peppering them. I have the armor pimped out and use the AMS to reload the maxes.

For the Saturday missions, this is a fun thing to do. Driving and placing a Sunderer is one of my favorite things to do.

All in all my favorite thing is driving an HE lightning with thermal imaging. It is very very effective. I have gotten the most points with this platform.

I enjoy the Liberator also. I have many options and am pumping up the armor. This is great for just my bro and I when we are on.

Last night we did the Sunderer thing with Stubs, BlueAjax and I and it was pretty effective.

I hope that my new video I will be filming this Saturday will draw more folks back. You dont need any certs to have fun. You can gun in a vehicle or a plane on minute 1.

I would like to see us with a full group most of Saturday, and maybe someday 2 on special occasions.

Bumped into Jag last night when he hopped into my Sunderer.

Wish I could have been on. I saw you pop into the PS2 channel but I had to head to bed. I'll see you on Saturday for sure. Hopefully I'll have BR10 by then.
