First of all I have not been excited about a movie in along time, but now that I have seen a few trailers of movies coming out I have something to look forward to.

The first one is Beowulf. This one looks like it is going to be good.

The second is The Mist by Steven King. This one looks like it will be almost word for word of the short story.

The third is Iron Man. This was my favorite super hero as a kid growing up. I am really excited about this one.

RobertO Downy Jr ftl

Whether you like Downy Jr or not, he really has the perfect look and character for the superhero. Ironman is my second favorite super hero, right after The Hulk.

do NOT go see dragon wars....
Like watching the plot line of some random RPG game...

Pointless and distracting

Unless you like really big snakes and Power Ranger fight scenes... then have at thee

Good movie: The Brave One I like the butt kickery Shocking from time to time but over all really good.

Family movie: The Game Plan, went to see it with my daughter we both loved it. Doesn't hurt that the Rock flashed his bare muscles here and there... YUM

I give THE BRAVE ONE and 3:10 TO YUMA... 5 out of 5 ratings. NO SHIT. The acting in both movies was top-notch, the script in both movies was unbelievably good, and the direction and sequences were superb.

Man, I'm a HUGE Transformer Fan but I liked those two movies better. That should tell you something.

I'm anticipating next summers' big hit "Power Rangers On a Plane" starring Denzel Washington as the Black Ranger.

3:10 to Yuma was really good.

The Kingdom & The Brave One.

Waiting for will smith's new one called I am Legend.
Posted By: Crimthan Re: Movies - 10/02/07 05:28 PM
I LOVE Post apocalyptic movies. That's my #1 pic for upcoming movies I want to see.
Posted By: BoSllBibliotequa Re: Movies - 10/02/07 09:53 PM
The Brave One WAS indeed very good. 3:10 to Yuma's trailers don't impress me much, what's the general plot?

Yeah, I Am Legend looks awesome, apparently it's a reversal of the whole Vampire-Human relationship (some virus makes everyone but him Vampires, and he goes around killing them during the day while they sleep. He become a legend like Vampires are to us.) Or something to that extent.

I want to see Kevin Bacon's new one... Death Wish or whatever... if Death Wish is the old movie series (Charles Bronson?) then I'm confusing the two because I hear the Kevin Bacon one is the same idea as that movie series.

The Mist looks insane, thanks for bringing it to my attention. Shawshank and the Green Mile are two of my favorite films.

Beowulf has an all-star cast, and its story is epic I hear, but it looks so cheesy (looks like a video game in a lot of scenes.) I'll watch it though.

As for Iron-Man... I don't know, he was a badass comic-book hero, but I wonder if the movie will actually deliver. In other words, will it be a Spiderman or a Hulk?

I also really want to see American Gangster, and We Own the Night (even though I hate Eva Mendez with a bloody passion.)

If I tell you any of the plot, it will ruin the movie for 3:10 to Yuma.

It's not just some shoot-em-up western. Russell Crowe probably plays one of the most interesting badasses I've ever seen. Christian Bale is superb. The emotions and conflict between he and his "son" in the movie are very gripping. The plot is awesome. If you like Westerns at all, and excellent script and plot and acting, watch the movie.

Trailers are nothing but bullshit and I like movies more if I don't watch the trailers before hand.

I liked the The Kingdom, there was a slow stretch but when the action kicked in it was great.

Beowulf looks like a video game because it's 100% computer graphics. I didn't realize that the first couple of times I watched the trailer. CG is getting more realistic all the time.
Posted By: BoSllBibliotequa Re: Movies - 10/05/07 06:24 PM
You sure it's every scene? Some look fine, but many others, like clearly the dragon, or a the scene with Angelina Jolie coming out of the water do look CGI.
Posted By: Helemoto Re: Movies - 10/06/07 12:36 AM
And I am sure its suppose to look that way. Look at 300.
Posted By: BoSllBibliotequa Re: Movies - 10/06/07 04:14 AM
Eh, I thought the 300 was pretty lame. It was the sort of action movie you'd geek out about in 9th grade. All gore, no plot... except for some reason every man on the planet thought it was incredible.

I'm not saying I don't like action movies, but shit, I want a plot as well. The Departed, The Bourne Series, Boondock Saints, and plenty of other great movies have managed it. I just didn't see that from the 300.

Like I said though, I'll watch Beowulf, it's not one of the most famous poems in history for no reason, and it has an incredible cast, but those trailers aren't impressing me.

What do you have against trailers, crim? I rather go into a movie knowing the general idea of the plot than going into a potentially terrible movie and wasting my money. Plus, there are some incredible trailers out there, have you seen the ones to Cloverfield?
Posted By: Valentein Re: Movies - 10/06/07 04:51 AM
Watch the low budget Icelandic production of Beowulf. It's true to the legend. Pretty bizarre.

Looks like it will be a good one atleast the trailer pulled me in.
