Wait, did they change there policy or did you answer my direct question incorrectly? I asked what level of pre-backers would be allowed into this CBT test phase. The answer I received was that only the $100 backers (Legendary) and Friends/Family would be in this CBT cycle. Now I see that they are phasing in start dates down to the minimum pre-funding level of @25 (Veteran) backers?
Did Steph change his mind after hearing it for the consumers or did my question not get answered correctly? I ask this because for $25 I will back and be in the CBT since they have pixels, I played the Alpha cycle and want this title to not suck big ole monkey balls.
They called an audible. I'd like to think that the leaders of several community organizations were all saying the same thing and they listened.
I told him I personally felt like they could secure more early buy ins at the lower tier if they just did a head start instead of phases so the people that already bought top packages and are organized and dominating the test phases don't shit on everyone else to the point of lack of interest.
I'll declare it a tentative Donk Diplomacy score +1.
Ok so Stef listened to people. I sent him a message about exactly this issue and how do you want to be perceived by your consumers before your title even launches considering the current marketplace and the burn out on pre-funding games. I give them credit, at least they listen and correct course from time to time. That is a whole hell of a lot more than the common place environment anymore between developers and the community/consumers.
I will back for $25 bucks and use your referral link Donk. Thank's for the clarification. I didn't want to believe that after our concise discussion that your answer was opposite to what they were doing.
Albion blows ass unless they have done some major fixing. Without confirmation of that, if anyone wants my account, let me know.
Define "major fixing". Do you mean from the Alpha Stage we played? Because if that is your point of reference, like many of us, the game has fundamentally evolved and expanded since than. In scope, in map size, in complexity of FvF, GvG and open warfare. The destiny lines have changed, the rate of increase has changed, they put in Player Laborers and a soft cap to keep the disparity between Vet Toons and New Toons to a value that will continue to be reviewed and adjusted.
Is this title a slam dunk? No, not yet. Has the dev team made a lot of changes for the better and taken player base input that is a positive change and incorporated it? Yes, to include a lot of our initial input from the Alpha module phase.
We were in a dungeon, and helping out a group get their gear back, when I noticed it said KGB. A little voice in the back of my head asked, "How remote is the chance that this is the same Knights of Glory and Beer that I used to PvP alongside in 1997, in the city of Trinsic, against 'The Resistance' (I think that was the name of the other guild) and their leader 'Cry for Dawn.'"
I only remember a few things, but they include that there were only 1 or 2 bricks you could teleport to in order to get on the roof at our bank down in the South end of Trinsic, and few people knew of them. I also remember my job was to wield a quarterstaff, find 'Dawn' (who I think was an alt/fencer character... but this is going way back), and pummel him at the outset of every fight in Trinsic, so that his stamina would be too low to run away. : )
Turned out you are the same guild, so I thought I'd stop by and say hello. I'm playing Albion Online now (because it gets me in the UO feels) with some of the crew I played Archeage with. I wouldn't mind trading some old stories and seeing what I've forgotten about UO from 18 years ago.
We have a faction in AA as well led by Romeo. Donk is leading the AO faction (whether he likes it or not). We still have a lot of players from the UO days actively playing with KGB is the couple of titles we have active factions in.
I'd be happy to talk about that. We're up to about 13 members now and climbing steadily. Mostly off of reputation from our events in the pirate faction of Kyrios (AA) when we led most of the naval PvP skirmishes against the East and West.
I stopped by the TS and hung out with the PD crew for a bit; it was good times. I'd still like to chat about UO and see what memory gaps I can fill in.
I got to speak with Phuzzylogic a little bit last night, good times.
Also it was fun seeing you guys in-game in Albion a short time later.
We were able to kill a few of the 10-12 rated mobs (I think they are called "elite" as opposed to "veteran"), but the boss did a number on our one tank. Looks like it's a 2-3 tank fight, in T5 gear, with a few more healers than we had.
In any case Jetstar, I'd still like to talk about old UO. I'm taking the wife, daughter, and mother-in law to Disneyland tonight for the fireworks show, but I'd be happy to get on after 1700 sometime tomorrow (Friday) if you know when you'll be in TS.

Company Christmas Party tonight. I will be passed out. What about tomorrow?
