Don't know how many are using windows 8, I am and like it.

As it is new I thought a tip thread would help.

My first one is one I love, it cost 5 bucks after the trial it is well worth it.

Forgot to say what it does.

It gives you the power to run a windows app and resize and minimize the window size so you can run more the one app at a time

I played with windows 8... only tip I could think to share was "uninstall"

While I can see it being decent for touchscreen devices, for general PC use I tend to agree with Gabe - "giant sadness"

Don't forget "sell MSFT" step.

Windows 8 is a cellphone / tablet OS...

I tried setting my brothers Windows 8 machine up and just couldnt handle it. I have been in the IT field for over 10 years now and I just couldnt handle Windows 8. I wiped it and reinstalled Windows 7.

So my tip would also be to get rid of 8 and install Windows 7. Hell maybe give Linux Unbuntu/Mint or some other flavor a shot.

Other then sell a stock that is consistent, which makes most of its money on enterprise business
and not consumer products, or to uninstall a program that this guy who has not worked in
IT ever, has no problem using, so haters do not need to post [haha]

Yes its really good with say the Surface, which I have, but I use it on my desktop which I have said I like it.
It has more options then a windows 7 unit.

I don't know why I am defending 8, think I will stop now.

PS it is not used for Windows Phones.

I imagine the largest horse buggy and whips company was also consistent to the very end.

Where would Microsoft go from here? Music player was a dud, smartphone was a dud, it took a decade to break even on Xbox. What do they have now that they didn't have in 90s?

Reason I sold MSFT shares: Open Office, Smartphones and Tablets replacing PCs, Win8 being unusable OS, and Ballmer is still in charge after all the flops and failed acquisitions.

Now, I am not shorting MSFT shares as of yet. Just not holding any despite preferring dividend-paying stock.

I see you are trying to be the smartest person in the room here also.

For you I assume if they don't make billions on day one they are a failure.

Window are on tablets and smartphones, I use a nokia 920 and have a surface.
I also have a laptop and desktop, and plan to buy a new desktop.
Are desktops going to be the way of the horse buggy and whips sure, You do know they still make those right?,
If you think MS is gambling on the desktop it shows what you don't know.
Like I said before, they make most of their money on enterprise not consumer products.
Win8 is not a unusable OS, I understand change is hard for some.
I still use MS music player and Zune, yep I sure do.
You call them failed acquisitions but I am sure you have no idea
what you are talking about.
Unless you have some insider knowledge of what they are doing with the tech they buy.

BTW guys thanks for hijacking and making it a bitch about thread.

I like 8. I didn't want it per se, but my comp broke and the new ones available all came with it pre loaded. I don't use the Tiles very much. I just switch over to regular desktop and use that.
