I'm all for the Egyptian people making a change. Lets hope that change isn't starting with this group called "The muslim brotherhood" They've already said they would attack Isreal, not to mention they have ties with Al Zawahiri, Bin Ladens #2. So as long as they don't go the other way, I'm all for it.

Reports of MB influence and stances are widely misrepresented. They are much also stronger in Alexandria than Cairo, which is pretty secular.

Also, where did you hear about Al Quada ties? As far as I have ever seen reputably reported, the organizations hate each other.

True that MB does not like Israel, but they appear more or less similar to the current ruling party in Turkey than to a vehemently anti Western terrorist movement. Which is to say I doubt the USA would agree with them on many things, but even if MB gained power it seems highly unlikely that Egypt would suddenly become a state sponsor or facilitator of international terrorism.

That is all spin .... Ayman al-Zahawiri was MB & now #2 in Al Qaeda ... pretty easy to connect the dots. Trace the history of the two groups, don't believe the spin.

MB pulls the strings ... another group carries out the directive, mostly funded by Saudi money ... MB displays "public outrage" ... bullshit!

These groups are two faces of the same coin.

One political (MB) putting on the secular happy face & one terrorist (AQ) doing the dirty deeds ... not unlike the IRA & Sinn Fein relationship.

Nah, he joined MB as a young kid. Then moved on to do his own thing pretty quick in different, more extremist groups.

Where are actual indications the MB pulls the strings? As opposed to IRA/SF relationship, most organizations that track jihadists and jihadist websites say that the jihadis loathe the MB and hold them in disdain.

If you have information to the contrary, I would love to know the source - I would be genuinely interested to hear.

At the end of the day, I dont really care if practicing Muslims end up running their own section of the world. I only care that they not spend their time figuring out how to blow up civilians.
