Just some questions about what it's like to play BDO. What is PvP like? Does KGB participate much? Is it mostly about numbers? Do single characters get to shine much?
How long is the Grind?
The grind to the soft cap is very reasonable. People have done 1-50 in 15 hours a few have done it in much less time. Soft cap is currently 55.
PvP is very fast paced and a lot of fun. Fights can last anywhere from 1 minute to 20 mins + if classes are played well. Our small group of 50+ are getting into fights nearly every day.
Currently we are a underdog but have had a lot of successful fights even against the biggest and best on the server. PvP is really about level and gear + skill. currently most of us are out geared but we have found a advantage with a few tactics revolving around Giant grapple cc abilities and focusing the target that the giant has grappled. A highly geared player can 1v5 a group of moderately geared players if played skillfully.
Over all I am extremely happy with the game

but can you kill a sorceress....
What kind of scenarios do you guys get into PvP in? Do you guys have any "nodes" or anything?
When you say a small group of 50+ is that level 50+ or 50 players? IS there any mechanic that limits the amount of people who can fight for a guild? Does the guild with the greatest number of players naturally have an advantage?
Node capturing and sieging isn't activated yet.. so pvp happens out in the field usually over grind spots where people level 50 and above are trying to get levels. Most of this pvp is small sided battles with less than 10 people but it's not uncommon for a guild to have multiple groups in one area and for larger battles to break out. This recent patch also introduced a battleground which is great for letting people practice pvp without losing xp.
Numbers definitely make a difference, but levels make more of a difference. Like Brommas mentioned, a higher level person can take out multiple lower levels... and if you are lower level and don't have accuracy stacked you won't even be able to hit the higher level players.
Oh I thought there was some sort of Anti-PvP mechanic that made it so if you attacked other players you lost all your items or something.
I'm guessing the NA servers work differently from the Asian ones?
There is a Karma system where if you kill ~5 players in a row you'll be labeled such that you cant enter main cities because the guards will attack you. There isn't any free looting in this game as far as im aware.
When is node conquering going to be activated?
We dont know for sure. But it is suppose to be one of the next things added. Predicting 2weeks to a month
Are there any mechanics that limit the size of guilds?--particularly in regards to PvP. I'm not big on zergs, and wonder if end game PvP will consist mostly of zerging or not.
100 people per guild max.
