http://forums.archeagegame.com/showthread.php?12109-ArcheAge-to-Launch-with-XLGames-Patch-1.2

Looks like they are skipping some of the 1.0 patch problems, but gilda stars will only be available by international trade. If they put the patch in this weekend i may have some time to test it out.

The patch goes live next week along with the new omega server. Spend your nui tears before then, after they are only worth 20 silver each

Thanks for the tip, i guess i won't be able to try out the new patch until after the weekend though.

Lots of issues with 1.2.. Lots of people revolting..

Much does suck but some is good like tax certs and other things but really a massive amount of the users have been talking about getting refunds if they can as it's moving to a P2W system and way more labor intensive moves. It now costs way more LP to open those coinpurses than not and many are just deleting them or not opening them because of the drain on LP. In their words 10 LP not worth it for 4s..

If you've not been in for awhile you have to download the client again completely, no patching. I would recommend doing so so you can experience some of the changes to classes, PVP, etc as it won't be the way you once played on launch but still may change until then.

Cheers,

So many changes! My paladin is broken at the moment, I need to buy a club with healing power and get lots of toughness I think. The skill tree... Lots to relearn.

Crafting is all changed and for the most bad IMHO..

Trade routes are gone, now you have to go cross-continental for gilda stars and 1 per pack yet the price of a trade ship plans has gone up to 400 gilda.

Not only that but the trade packs have all been changed and now require some intermediary ingredient, like chopped vegetables or some breakdown of other crops/mats, and on some you need 10k+ to make them.

Put into perspective to get a trade ship, lets say solo as I have been playing. I have to grow the crops (which have all been increased in prof to do so), pay with intermediary items so I can reduce them to some new ingredient, go to a specific bench (which only basic ones can be made less you have some new bench that is open to the public and something like 300 gilda to get) and make the thing and sail it across the ocean to sell it for 1 gilda. I next have to repeat all that 399 times to get enough for 1 ship which is fucking asinine.

May be the worst money I've ever spent. Bait and complete fucking switch IMO.

Some good points, some meh points and a whole lot of WTF where they thinking.

not liking the feedback from changes so far :(
Posted By: Viper Re: 1.2 Patch - 07/05/14 05:03 PM
Everyone told them not to do this patch, even before alpha started.

Apparently its what killed the game in Korea, or so I've heard but yet they still did it. Trion claims they will do there own tweaks for our version but I highly doubt it, they don't have any control on what happens it seems.

They should of never let us test an older version, now everyone is pissed off!

I'm not giving up yet though, maybe we just need to view it as a new game again and re-learn it.
Posted By: Ictinike Re: 1.2 Patch - 07/06/14 03:32 AM
I agree.. I don't like many of the changes but I'm trying to work with what we have and the later fixes by Trion.

The issue I, and others have pointed out, Trion is just the publisher bringing it to the states so any big changes must get XL approval. Lets hope the crushing changes brought to Korea and loss of playerbase give them incentive to try and change things for the right. I'm hoping (hoping) XL will see the feedback from this patch release in alpha and remember what they had originally and it may make them allow a whole lot more changes than original. They are only losing more money by holding firm to what they have now so I'm hoping they see the light.

It is what it is and I'm trying to relearn a bunch of stuff and see what pans out. Those that haven't played for awhile may want to give it some time again to analyze the changes or at least wait until the upcoming Trion "fixes" and relearn before launch.

If they keep it as-is they are going to crush this before it even starts. Sad really.

So my paladin is now pretty effective again, all i needed was a club with healing power, although less dps than my katana was and some toughness which I bought from the honor point guy.

I'm still doing the skill tree dance but I pretty much have it where I like it.

I went to the omega server and started fresh to grow a toon with the new changes. It was better than trying to figure it all out on the old toons. The changes seem to me to really make it important to have a cohesive group of people to work with.

The changes are not bad really once you get a feel for them. Most of the crafting changed from praying to the rng gods to give you a rare to grow lots. So quantity over quality other then they added crafting stabilizers to the high level stuff that you can only get from trade packs to the other continent. So you need friends to help you get those.

Overall not bad really as long as you have friends to play with.

Aye solo, small group or guild will be crushed.

Will hope changes come shifting back to what it was but this is going to be a 5-10 person, guild, group game and those who have numbers are going to own the game. Not real nice IMO because once those large guilds and alliances break down from lack of anything to do, since they likely rule the economy and PVP with the best possible gear their will be no one to pick up the pieces.

60 Day Merchant services expired on 6/27, so I am stuck with this purchase. For better or worse. Hopefully they figure it out and Trion protects its own revenue stream as the publisher with the monthly nut they expect to get. No one wants to play a broken piece of shyte that is a Korean grinder with a pay to have advantage element. You would think these ass pirates would have figured it out by now.

Then again, they got my $165. Absolutely the last game I pay for that is not fully released and live.

With my cultist I have found no difference in game play. Granted it is only 33.
Posted By: Ictinike Re: 1.2 Patch - 07/12/14 09:42 PM
Tas they *say* things will get better.

I have found respec'ing does help but the grind on crafting, while possibly warranted, is a bigger grind. I don't mind working and grinding for something and seems the more I look at this and see the back and forth on the forums; it may be for the good.

Prior to 1.2, particular crafting prof's could race to the 10-20k within only weeks with help from others and partially cornering the market. Some were rumored to bringing in over 100g per day from doing simple tasks that really should be taking longer to first achieve and second completing either daily or weekly. These have stopped. The wild price gouges on particular items have slowed or stopped (possibly because people gave up) and it's slowly [the economy] is starting to settle down and now that more and more are catching up to those milestones [20-50k] you see lots more capitalistic movements where supply and demand start to mean something.

Again, I'm still grinding various crafting professions, namely tailoring and I just got to 5k to make my 30-40 suit. I can only make 1-2 pieces because of the other rare components [that are not easily found by anyone these days] so it means something when I'm able to make one. People are selling labor now so they are paying someone to cut their lumber, spin their fabric and this is emerging as it's own micro-economy.

It does still suck in places, not going to lie. Health and Mana regen are hard to overcome while grinding mobs for quests or otherwise. You now have to stop and wait, use instruments or actually use crafted food. Guess what, now cooking has fallen into one of the profs that no one used to do but now is needed by all.

So, I'll continuing playing and at first, when getting waxed by everything and giving up a few times, I respec'ed and learned to play better. I still have issues, everyone does, but it's an evolution and they say things will change with the next patch. Their hands are tied for actually doing anything but they are in talks with XL and really if they [XL] wants this to success as much as Trion states; they have to bend a bit and in doing so may make things better over time.

I don't feel I've lost my 150$ but, for now, feel now it's an investment in something that was good but a race to who can make XXX gold to strategically finding what niche's are out there and fighting for something you believe in.

Cheers,
~Icky

btw, I'm Xanthian on Alpha server if anyone wants to PM me or something.. :)

I figure I am going to wait until they are deep in Beta and closer to live launch before I spend 40-100 more hours on this Title.

Money Spent. Fingers Crossed.
Posted By: Zhou Re: 1.2 Patch - 07/15/14 12:11 AM
Ya, I'm holding off time Beta time or closer to launch. Putting to much time into an alpha seems like time wasted.
Posted By: Ictinike Re: 1.2 Patch - 07/15/14 12:32 AM
It's fun regardless at times so without playing anything else, I get in for an hour or more a night if I can.

Always learning, something to work towards.. never hurts

I'm not even playing until release.

The late adapter tactic is probably going to be one that helps you play longer after live launch.
