The year of the PC Gamer is upon us.

Many quality AAA titles in several stables make for payback for the last couple years of famine. Among those AAA titles is one some of us have been waiting since 2000 for the next game in the series. After years of being put on the back burner by Microsoft and countless business issues, including a major lawsuit, I bring you the mother of all Mech Games.

Without further adieu, Mother humping MechWarrior Online!!

Unfortunately Piranha Games don't have a massive budget like some other AAA titles. They are going to launch what basically is an instanced match based game in order to fund the continued development off the battle engine to give them a fully fledged MMO with a persistent star map.

So for launch, its going to be match based games and micro transaction for what they say is not "pay to win" as the actual combat is skill based and not overpowered by the cash store model. They didn't mention it in the video, but from the research I have done Piranha Games has stated that all mechs and weapons that are available for instant purchase from the cash store can be earned through game play by generated ingame cash through playing rounds. Basically, those people who play more often and generate more in game Comstar Credits will not have to fork out real hard cash for mechs. Where they are going to make their money is going to be through customization of Mechs.

Sounds a lot like League of Legends...which is good. :)
