Hey all,

I just joined and was hoping to get everyone's opinion on the current ships and packages. I currently only have a Polaris and would like to know what I should look at to be my daily driver. Any advice is welcomed and appreciated.

Welcome. There really is a ship for almost any type of play style at this point. What do you want to do in the game and I can probably give you some suggestions on my experience with them?

I'm thinking that I want to do Escort/Support for the most part, and focus on scouting and Intel second. I got the Polaris as its the biggest ship I want to fly, and it offers a lot of versatility.

Wow that is an AWESOME ship, and quite large! I would say that based on what you were describing a Vanguard Warden or Freelancer DUR would be solid choices with a Constellation Aquilla or Carrack on the higher end of things. You will certainly be able to Escort/Support a LOT in an Polaris which is a Corvette class ship (up to 24 crew) with up to 216 CU of cargo + a landing pad for a fighter! ^_^

I have one as well - so we'll be able to fly in formation together!

How does the Vanguard handle? Should I get it with LTI?

I like mine, definitely a heavy-hitting ship (a bit tanky) - can fly solo or +1 in the gun turret. As always, you can just go with what you have and earn them in-game on release. The one I have is LTI because I picked it up when they were first introduced, but it does look like they are on sale right now WITH LTI.

Looks like Taxman is doing a good job give you some good advice on ships. Having a Polaris is a nice addition too. I believe he hops on during the weekends. May of us are at least waiting till 3.0 to play more.

I am easier to hook up with on the weekends as Zhou said (due to my time zone), but sure let me know when would be good for you - I am on today (pretty much whole day) and tomorrow is flexible (nothing specific planned).
