I think it might be worth signing on to help keep our own little Tortuga afloat.

If we're good guys, it will be a good target to generate user-driven content!
Well, I thinke everyone will want to be bad guys, and the real meat will be being the good guys.

What do you all think?
I lean towards being good, but we could always be agood kind of bad... Like counter ganking back in DAOC.

But honestly, i really don't know what i want to do lol. I've tools four almost any job
I will primarily be a good guy. That doesn't mean I wont have a second account to do a few evil deeds to experience the lawless sector. There are plenty of negative affects to being a bad guy. Many of which limit what can be done in UEE space. So the guild in general will most likely be a PMC UEE rule based structure. There really hasn't been any info on how guild structures will be regarding having bad company in the mix. If its possible then I don't see why a member can't decide his own fate.

Of course you are going to say that.

Its not about good vs bad. Its about Citizen vs. Everything

You are so far off base Jet. The community is full of immersion monkey mouth breathing do-gooders and far out weigh the teams that have self identified themselves as pure PvC (Player vs. Citizen). To add to that point, the intent from CIG is that the PU will be highly populated by the AI and sparsely populated with Players by using the instanced sub-system CIG intends to use to control the number of ships in an instance.

You would be better served using your resources to figure out the "Economy" and where in the PU your "hunting grounds" and "home base" are going to be once we get a live PU to start testing. You can then choose to play essentially whatever play style you choose to as an organization, be it UEE Citizens, Privateers, Mercantilism or whatever.

I will be doing whatever it is that I want to do, while enjoying umbrella drinks and singing Beach Boy hits while getting my dakka-dakka on. That is the flexibility of multiple accounts with multiple ships.
I think the point of this conversation is what line to tow. I think there will be so many P v C that you could eek out a great living capitalizing on that alone. It is WAYYYYYYYYY to early to start decision making when the game we all have invested so heavily in is still largely vaporware.
Based on the little info we do have since we are in a early stage of development. Attacking any ship in UEE space not criminal will flag you. I personally will have to follow the UEE regs for maintaining citizenship on my main account. Too many ships and needs to lose citizenship on my main character.

That's primarily what we are probably going to be basing the main portion of the guild on. Alt accounts or characters or those wishing to be outside the law and limited on actions we need more info on how to treat such characters.

Main account profession--- Mercenary (escort), or Bounty Hunter (killing me some pirates).
Side profession--- Courier, Merchantile.

Second Account--- Pirate
Good? bad? all I want to be is Jets little space slut
^ An admirable career path.

Well correct me if I am wrong (as I have not had as much time to digest all the facts) I see the system based on the Organizations you interact with on both a personal and guild level, colored by the type of organization your guild wishes to represent itself as.

Meaning if you are Private Military Company (PME) then most likely many of the NPC driven organizations you will be able to interact with will be associated along those lines, and many of the skills/mods/upgrades/ships/ and unlocks will be tailored to those same general play styles and factional drifts. Your strengths (depending on NPC allegiances) will be key in any PvP. No Merchantman will be able to stand toe to toe against a dreadnought type ship for example, however a Merchantman will have abilities and upgrades that no dreadnought will.
