So i never knew how much AFK swimming can help a character. First off I am not the best at DF and always had trouble getting my stats up, well with AFK swimming its easier!!! So far in a week my Str has gone up by 8(50), Vit by 7(49), and Quickness by 12(61). IT IS insane! Also to note i have been doing this about 22 hours a day.

Yes is helps a lot, now throw in some ore nodes and tree's once in a while and your strenght/Vit will go up even faster. Squared Swims and hits nodes a lot and he has higher bas stats than I do.

I have noticed in the last few days no stat gains in health is that normal ?? Im no where maxed yet !

It slows considerably after 50...and I do mean slows.

From My last update i ahve been AFK swimming nightly and now my stats are:
str: 58
vit: 58
Quickness: 83.62

You may not be 'maxed' yet, but you may be your 'max' based on your current stats/skills.

For instace I stayed the same for a several days just swiming and thought something was broke, than when I gained in one of the skills that allows for max Health Bonus, I gained a little more.

One of the patches awhile back made it scale faster for those with lower stats, it slows down when you get higher.

I agree with Vuldan, I compared the progression a while back, may have changed, mining and chopping trees is the way to go when you’re at the keyboard (plus you get stuff), otherwise swim.

[This in no way implies I have ever macroed afk which would be in violation of df tos. It is just a coincidence my Quickness is 110 unbuffed.]

I noticed the stat gain slowdown around 60. (Just like all skills.)
All of my stats are 80's - Capped now, except Intelligence, which is close to 65. I've done afk swimming since I got my house on Geodin's Song, have also gathered a shit ton even when at the PC. Stat gains from different types of gathering is NASTY & on top of that, Herbalism FTW when leveling INT. (Just a head's up for you others.)

AFK swimming ... I am still getting decent stat gains (.3 or so a workday + sleeptime) in str\vit .. quickness more like .5.

I am in mid 70s str\vit & 90+ quickness.

Well last night the gains started again so it dont seem broke and all is working again.....

Maybe because you went out and worked skills?

I logged in this morning to set up my swimmer before work and didnt see a single clan member on the map around the city.

We still live there & will be for quite awhile. Most people probably got the random server boot. I, personally, had logged due to reds showing while I was majorily afk casting with a shit ton of regs on me.

Yeh, I was randomly kicked from the server with a bunch of people earlier this morning; may have been around that time.

Otherwise, Im still bound there!
