So what is everyone's thoughts on Bergdahl, Weird situation it's great they were able to bring the guy home. My thoughts are that something isn't right. The Administration is basically calling the people in his unit liars for suggesting that he walked off base on his own. I would like to see any evidence that has been brought up to how this happened. Though we may never get the whole truth.

The White house cited Bergdahls health (video shows he looks fine) as being one of the issues to get the trade done so soon without telling anyone in congress. This Administration thinks they can do things without any approval like they are entitled to do as they wish. Even Democrats are voicing issues with doing this on their own accord. To bad they didn't go out on their own and make a decision in Benghazi that possibly could have saved lives.

Now it seems the administration is puzzled they are getting so much flak from everyone about this. Just goes to show how out of touch they are about well... everything.

So it is your opinion that POTUS needs Congressional approval for a prisoner of war exchange?

Not quite sure what the rigamarole here is. Maybe I have missed something. If people want to give Obama flak for the decision.. well... OK. Question his judgement all you want, I do almost every time I read about something he has done.

As for prisoner exchange... normally it shouldnt be such a big deal, at least from a legal standpoint. Congress shouldnt be needed.

However, the US Govt (Bush and Obama admins thus far) has done so much legal tapdancing and sophistry to somehow justify holding people without trial and without Geneva Convention POW rights that I will LMAO if it comes back to bite them because one of the sophistries employed comes back to haunt them somehow.

Interesting in-depth article written by Michael Hastings.

(Michael Hastings was the guy who brought down Gen McChrystal and was assassinated last year)

Why was the FBI investing Hastings over his Bergdahl article?
