You are likely to be eaten by a grue...

hmmm, this brings to light a phrase (paraphrased in this instance) from Billy Madison:

Quote:

We are now all dumber for having seen this, and may God have mercy on your soul...

Front has some decent stuff, and always seems to pack the main theater at PAX. This song is definitely one of my favorites.
Although I've always been more partial to Johnathan Coulton's RE: Your brains

The funny part is, I've been using the ' grue ' statement for years in my sig lol

The number of folks who have ever played the series continues to shrink
Posted By: Derid Re: zomg nerdcore 4tw - 01/19/09 03:03 AM

Thats actually a lot of the reason I posted it, was for you Daye ^_^

I actually did not even know where the statement originated until I stumbled across the video on someones developer blog, lollerskated, posted link to share nerdcore hilarity.

The statement didn't originate with the Frontalot track...

It was ZORK damn-it!

ZORK!!!!!!

Want some rye? Course ya do.
Posted By: Derid Re: zomg nerdcore 4tw - 01/19/09 05:37 PM

Ya I know that Bard, isnt that the Zork creator the dude in the cameo? I mean hes playing games on TRS-80 FFS, which oddly enough I do remember... though I never played Zork.
Posted By: Bardaji Re: zomg nerdcore 4tw - 01/19/09 05:53 PM
Nope. Didn't create Zork but he's a PC game programming pioneer..I think you're too quick to judge on this one Crim. The lyrics, references and topics found in nerdcore are very relevant to the gaming geek and far from that which makes you tehstupid.

However...MCChris 4tw! Trumps MC Frontalot on tehgeek scale.
Posted By: Crimthan Re: zomg nerdcore 4tw - 01/20/09 12:04 AM
Sadly, or unsadly, depending on your take - I've never been much of a nerd. Yes, I love to game, but I don't display or have much of "that" personality. Anyone who meets me off the street usually thinks I'm on the opposite spectrum of a "nerd."

Thus, the lyrics, references, topics, found in nerdcore don't have much relevence to me, and only seem teh stupid to me.

Ahh, your very presence here testifies to the contrary! Embrace the geek that you are Crim...

Look in the mirror and repeat after me...

"I may project myself as a bad-ass Marine, but by joining the AF I've shown my real inner self. I’m geeky, I’m nerd to the core, and dog-gone it, people still like me!"

Don't make me pull out the Renfest picture you put up back in the day. That alone would settle this...

LOL, that was a pretty badass pic, regardless of whether a nerd or not, and I was picking up plenty of babes.

Hehe. . back when games required some imagination to play

Predating even Zork is another game I played early on.
If you know any of the following, you might be a geek:

PLUGH
XYZZY
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

Be one with your inner Geek.

This link will take you to the inner sanctum of Geekiness.
