So anyway, rift is going F2P

just offering some interesting info in case anyone wants it

i think you might still have to pay for the game and xpac but theres a loophole

activate your old account for the 3 day trial, download raptr and launch the game so that raptr tracks how long you have been playing.

once you hit 9 hours or something like that, raptr gives you 3 normal days of play time and the full game + xpac for free.

if you figure you would install rift to play while you are bored, it wouldnt hurt to have the xpac for free while you can get it.

This was a solid and fun MMO from the launch, very polished, pvp was really fun.

The eng-game got pretty old fast however, and they fumbled by killing off open world pvp by messing with pvp daily quests, and their instanced 2 way battle / conquest game had negative reviews initially..

Not sure how it stands now since I haven't played for a long time, but if someone wants a free quality MMO to kick around in, definitely check this one out. Trion seems to be taking the F2P concept to a new level by not screwing players over with limits and tricks to get a ton of micro-transactions out of players.

I enjoyed Rift, but we played then went on vacation and when we came back interest was waning after about a month in. I did enjoy it over all.
But I am stuck in my LOTRO world lol

i guess the raptr xpac promotion keys ran out. so no more of that sadly...

just wanted to give everyone an update in case they were still interested.

yeah honestly, rift is a pretty solid MMO to fart around with if you are bored and want a polished generic mmo.
