Honestly, if they don't provide an open beta by the end of 07 I'm probably going to say F it and never read any Darkfall news ever again.
You may not see Conan if that happens. But I will. Planning on trying both of em out.
Yah Df will only be hitting beta when AoC hits release. IF it hits beta. I also plan on Aoc, normaly betas have alot of downtime.
My question would be, what would KGB's plans be when and if DF does hit beta and AoC releases.
Thats a good question not easily answered. It really depends.
Worst case scenario is guild guilds split between the two, which given their crappy timing is a real possibility.
AoC will probably play/look smoother, and be a bit more polished overall given Funcom is experienced at MMOs and well funded this time around, but DFO is the game many of us are looking for regarding a next-gen UO/Shadowbane PvP warfare game.
Regardless of DFO, is AoC is polished, and out, a decent amount of ppl will have a hard time prying themselves away, yet quite a few of us will be playing DFO regardless, untill/unless it proves to be totally unplayable.
Only time will tell.
If FUNCOM caves in to the noob WOWbears, and compromises their vision for AOC, then DFO will definitely hold the attention of the more skill-based, high-twitch PVP fans for a longer period of time. If there is more content in DFO than simply grinding mobs to build your keep all day, then it will far outshine Shadowbane. I know...obvious shit, but something to think about nevertheless...

I'm hoping that Funcom won't be that stupid. It would be great if you had the EQ people in one basket, the WOW people in another basket, and the PVP people between the AOC and DFO baskets. Yah, diversity in a community is great, but in gaming communities it seems to create disasters and umpteen million ridiculous buffs and bullshit nerfs.

Would be nice to have beta, maybe they will work something out to give themselves some breathing space now that AoC is officially pushed back.
When dealing with loans that large, the investing banks are usually open to discussion regarding terms, and repayment as long as there is sufficient business case (ie: more likely yheyll get their cash+interest back) to make the changes.
Postponing repayment 2-3 months due to postponing product launch would make sense in this case, if they can still beat their primary genre competitor to market and even make Xmas, yet have even a slightly better product than if theyd rushed.
Well I really do hope they manage to get beta out soon (before the end of the year soon). It'd be damn nice to see something concrete come out of them. And really, if they aren't doing some sort of fairly large sized beta by the end of the year, there's no way they'll release before Conan.
