KGB ACQUIRES JAVELIN-CLASS DESTROYER

KGB tripled down on it's commitment to Star Citizen this morning with the purchase of a JAVELIN-CLASS DESTROYER (Complete Specs Here).

The ship takes 23 people to run and is the largest player owned ship available.

x13 Size 5 ATA Turrets
x2 Size 7 STS Turrets
x2 9m Desolator Class Anit-Capital Ship Torpedo launchers

KGB citizens now possess 2 Idris Frigates as well as a Javelin Destroyer. We are committed to this game and we are hoping it is everything it is promised.

Stay tuned.

Awesome!!

KGB has 3 great capital ships and a fleet of various other ship classes. We will have any ship we need depending on our situation.

We have a pro-fleet. This puts KGB in a real power position and I am sure we will be able to grow back to one of our peek periods in our history.

Thanks to everyone that helped and I am really excited about the future.

Didnt know what a javelin was so I looked it up and I must say in intrigued. May start looking into the game how many kgb members are playing?
Posted By: Zhou Re: KGB ACQUIRES JAVELIN IN STAR CITIZEN - 11/29/14 04:37 AM
It's still in alpha. Those playing are just learning the dog fighting module. There are at least 27 people that have backed at this point in time.

I thought it would have been out by now I remember romeo buying that huge package while we were playing darkfall. What are kgb numbers like in archage and city of ??????
Very cool haha, looks like a good game. Just such a high buy in price. Glad you guys are doing good though! :P
Melted retaliator and herald for Carrack (will likely melt for Endeavor.

KGB and my PS2 group may need to see about some working together in the verse.

The option is still there for your friends to join up with KGB. Otherwise we will have to see what social structure is available later on for alliance structure. I'm still registered on their site.

Could they not have there own org with afiliate membership to KGB?
Posted By: Tasorin Re: KGB ACQUIRES JAVELIN IN STAR CITIZEN - 12/02/14 05:45 PM
I am painting big pink fluffy bunnies all over that bad boi and going trolling in 0.0 space.

Largest player owned ship that is not persistent. This means that either at worlds and/or large space ports you will be able to pack that bad boi away.

Cost sink is going to be munitions, fuel and Insurance for everything beyond the LTI Hull Insurance. Just like anything, the big question is if you have the manpower, how many people can you stuff into the same persistent zone without parsing your fleet out into multiple shards of the same zone.

I have boiled down to 2 accounts that are fully stocked for the PEW PEW, QQ MOR!!

Also, if boarding is in at live launch, prepare the Donk-a-naughts for anti ship boarding hilarity.

Shitty broken fps avatar vs avatar game mechanics don't count.

Possible. The last time we talked organizations barley came out. We haven't talked since. Hobbit has kept me informed on that situation.

Hey all,

We are going to need crew to pilot these things. I think running one of the big Javelin or Idrus guns is going to be a blast. Not everyone needs all the ships.

We do need everyone and I think this is going to be a HUGE recruitment opportunity just with the fleet our members already possess.
Current consensus for our active members is still to stay pretty unfettered, freelancers (pun intended) but some sort of affiliate may be amenable. Mostly they aren't talking about or considering anything much regarding SC.

Even then we have no idea on the limit of NPC crew or the limit of NPC wing-man as of yet. Last I heard was 4 NPC wing-man and possibly 10 NPC crew. Things change and who knows what it will end up being. The Javelin requires a major investment of members not something to easily drop cash on with a needed crew of 20. At least I expect to somehow fly an Idris solo if the situation warranted it. That and I'm sure the cost associated with upkeep on these said NPC crew members will take a good chunk to maintain and with a 150k credit limit as of now, if you have more then that you can't buy any with its current daily limit of 25k. Might be a huge money sink using NPC's.
Posted By: Instrument Re: KGB ACQUIRES JAVELIN IN STAR CITIZEN - 12/04/14 02:16 PM
even if there are no limits on NPC's I can not see the Javlin or the Idris being your every day ship

I am basing my plans on unlimited NPC's but only 2 wingmen

there will always be at least 1 NPC wingman option so that haulers can have protection

my plan is in safespace to escort my HullC with BMM
15,000 cargo even if just running the basics should build up the credits fair fast
Posted By: Tasorin Re: KGB ACQUIRES JAVELIN IN STAR CITIZEN - 12/04/14 05:40 PM
Relax, it was a chip at the entire NPC system and the immersion crowds demands for Artimas Bridge Simulator style of play for any crewed ships.

Immersion monkies, bringing you towels, toilets and fish tanks at the expense of resources too core game mechanics.
Posted By: JetStar Re: KGB ACQUIRES JAVELIN IN STAR CITIZEN - 12/04/14 11:33 PM
Well I see things like this. I see KGB being a legit organization, and hiding anything not legit under the GSS banner.

I would like to run cargo for money as a guild with protection from the Idrus's and if we do a big run, populate the Javelin.

Sweet! REALLY looking forward to this!

I was one of the Kickstarter backers for Star Citizen.

Picked up the Freelancer (also a multiple player ship) and the Veteran-only version of the Super Hornet.

Will definitely be in game, and happy to help out!

I've been watching it I'll be buying a ship just waiting to see if there is a sale soon . If not I'll probably drop a buck or two can't wait too much longer I wanna get in game and play around with it
Posted By: Instrument Re: KGB ACQUIRES JAVELIN IN STAR CITIZEN - 12/15/14 06:02 PM
none of the CIG sales are real sales with reduced prices
the ships are all sold at a fixed price.
You can always pick up an aurora package for $45.00 USD which includes access to the the areana (ship combat test bed)

also as each ship is added to the areana as a flyable asset
you can upgrade any of your existing ships to it so the longer you wait the more options you have

there is also a possability that SC will offer accounts without ships aprox $10.00 USD but this may not happen
with the numbers of SC ships held by KGB a non ship account would be workable

my best advise tho would be to regisate on the site and buy a $5 shipskin so that you are listed as a backer just incase they give out anymore freebies to backers.
you can always turn the ship skin back to store credit for buying your package afterwards

one thing to be aware of is you can always melt down any ship you have for store credit and buy a different ship some people do this every time there is a new ship release just so they can try out the new ship

wow.. a Javelin destroyer! Coolest capital ship I have ever seen in a space game. Going strong!

I have been busy to melting ships I bought for the looks and buying ships I need for playing the game to have a great start grinding credits for the guild instead for a better trade ship for example.

I now have a trader (banu merchantman), a scout (xian scout), a multi crew ship (constalation andromeda), a stealth ship (hornet ghost), a pirate (cutlass black), a racer (M50) and a heavy fighter (freelancer mis).

enough ships with a lot of potential to have a great start in the game.

There have been some major changes to the military ranks of late. General Weiland has stepped down due to RL concerns and obligations. He still hopes to be out fighting with us but he's concluded he doesn't have the time to run his division the way he would like to. I'd like to thank Weiland for all his hard work taking on such a demanding job. THANK YOU BROTHER WEILAND! =)

That's some Library-of-Alexandria-style ancient history :) Those 'real life concerns and obligations' were moving from OR to WA, and here I remain.

I don't want to derail the SC thread too badly, but I appreciate the shout out.

Don't think we had a discussion about it.

Nice! Looking forward to bringing in support or acting as crew!

Here is my current hangar:

* RSI Orion - LTI
* Weekend Warrior - LTI (F7C-M Super Hornet + extras for Veterans only)
* Freelancer - LTI
The Brewhouse? The Tavern. The Stein? Etc.

No matter what, it will be fun to get that tooling about once it is equipped!

Posted By: Taxman Re: KGB ACQUIRES JAVELIN IN STAR CITIZEN - 12/12/15 05:29 AM
Really looking forward to it!

Javelin + a few Idris' and nice fleet of support fighters are going to make for a helluva laser spray!

And yes - you don't need to pickup a "special" ship at all; just one of the $45 starter packs will get you a basic ship + hangar + Squadron 42 and Star Citizen. The multi-crew thing is what is REALLY going to make this game AWESOME!

If you are considering bumping up to a better ship - and need help; please feel free to IM me.
