KGB AND SHROUD OF THE AVATAR

KGB started back in 1997 in UO, and many of old time vets are really excited.

They make a respectable kickstarter showing with 2 million dollars.

All I can say is that we are going to have folks interested here.

Take the time to read up and speak to some of our most committed folks. Owain, Romeo, and Heidi, are some examples.

Tell me that you and Tracy Hickman (head story developer) are going to incorporate PvP into the story line, and that you intend PvP to be a distinct struggle of Good vs. Evil.

Lord British answered this question at length, explaining that this was EXACTLY the kind of emergent game play he wants to see in SotA. This is something that cannot be scripted, only encouraged. He will allow players to be evil, if that is their wish, and where there is evil, there are Heroes.

I have generated a lot of interest in the SotA community for the KGB, not only among former allies, but among former enemies as well. A lot of the Single Player Ultima folks have no idea what this is about, but all the old school UO players are starting to get charged up.

*nods* I was a supporter... "Royal Artisan" level, so they got my support (and Owain as well).

Another project (also a bit related) that I supported was "Star Citizen" from Chris Roberts (also from Origin) that made some of my favorite space flight, combat, simulations - Wing Commander and Freelancer.

It will also have areas for open PVP (pirates/raiders/etc).

Lol, seems we lead the same life. Always did the UO strategic planning (and reading the official guide), back in '97 in high school. Best gaming times of my life.

Glad to see someone who has some of the same fond gaming memories/experiences.

I recorded most of our history in the game. It is a great read from 16 years ago. See the KGB News Archives on the right column of the Portal Page.
