INACTIVE MEMBERSHIP PURGE

The KGB Senate recently agreed to a new policy regarding membership retention. In order to maintain your active KGB Membership, you must log into the Oracle at least once every 6 months. Failure to do so will cause your membership to expire and you would have to file a returning member application and be reviewed by the membership through the standard federal membership process to regain your active member status. No rank is immune to this purge.

I will always send out an email warning 7 days in advance warning of the impending purge.

The first purge is scheduled for tonight. Thank you for your attention.

Jet,

So by your figures there are 1336 users in total to the board yet only 173 are actively checking in within the past 6 months and only 103 were purged?

Should 1336-173 = number to purge?

Just asking..

Only 173 KGB Members. There are 1336 Oracle users. 355 Users have accessed the Oracle in the last month.

I do not delete users to preserve the archives. Deleting user accounts removes name records from message history.

Purges sound so draconian.
I wonder in this world how reasonable this act is.
Can't I be a "member for life" because I love KGB?

Hell, even the Nords gave a pass to those over 60.

I'll now join and engage in combat. I like combat, but mu body hates sitting for long periods of time.

we needed to know who still stands watch with us, we have had so many over the years (guilds almost 15 years old now) that we needed to know what our numerical strength was, something all good generals need to know. For the most part all were given a inactive alumni status which allows them to come back when they are ready.

Inactive does not mean not interested.
I support Jet. I don't think it's a good idea to cull old ones.

well being alumni is better then being tossed out completely, and running a guild is a full time occupation to a small degree, it's unfair for people to expect those still here to uphold the guild while others fall off the planet and come and go as they please without even letting anyone know. KGB values everyone that has served, but service is a word with a meaning that some might have taken for granted. If they value the guild they will come back, and we will take them back.

Well, all I can say is that asking members to hit the Oracle once per year is a pretty lax requirement.

Anyone can re-apply.
