Has anyone else had already read posts coming up as unread on your main index here at the oracle? I have been having some long load times too, and was just wondering if anyone else had same problem.

i have been having extrreamly long load times but the cable company pinged my motem and its going really slopw so its something on there end

I've been having some really long load times...I'm on DSL,and my connection seems fine.

Are you guys using Firefox?

I am but my load times hve been long since I am dl'ing SOG, that is probably what is up with Sea and Grif too lol

my load times are fine but I do occasionally see posts that I have read come up as unread. Not a big deal though. Smileys also don't work for me but I guess that is my browser being crap. They work if I type in the smiley icons myself ie : ) = but clicking the picture of them do nothing. On the bottom of the webpage it says "error on page".

My Internet explorer has been a bit crap for a while though so its probably my end.

Elph if you are downloading with bit torrent and it is making surfing incredably slow then you probably have the upload set to high on your bittorent client.

If you know how much upload your conection has then set your upload to be 90% of max. Ie I have a crappy upload of 500Kb per second so I set my upload limit on my bit torrent client to 400Kb or 40KB. Otherwise you have so much going up your pipe nothing can come down it (ooo err mrs)

Actually since my internet explorer sucks I just downloaded firefox. Seems a great browser. Love the tabs.

no i dont use firefox and im downloading on my tower and im on my laptop for forums so that wouldnt effect my load times on the site, the internet company sayed the box is not as fast as it shoudl be.
