KGB is an online gaming organization, we have specific forums dedicated to this endeavor. As well as guildmates, we are also human beings and we form friendship. We have other forums dedicated to general discussion.
KGB has always had a diverse population and I have been witness to many deep conversations about Politics, Religion, etc. If you wish to take part in these discussions, I invite you to, if you do not, I would say simply avoid these sometimes charged threads.
I support free speech, and as long as we respect each other, I will not limit content in these open forums.

Maybe we should just bring back the RL Political Forums. We had one during the last election. '08 is right around the corner so I'm sure these discussions will only increase. Not sure if you remember but it was an uncensored, "don't get offended", "not for the light hearted, if you are stay out" forum. I thought it worked about pretty good.

Here's something for you to think upon.
There is another forum I post in from time to time. An
organization I belong to has a forum where folks can discuss
whatever is on their mind.
In the political forum, there was a lot of crap going
back and forth about the terrible job our current president
is doing. The debate became somewhat heated and someone
posted something along the lines that the world would be
better off without the current government in place.
Now this is pretty typical of political threads as we
usually have folks taking sides and talking sh*t about the
other team.
Where this became untypical ( and pissed me off to no end )
is one of the forum members decided they didn't like what
was said. Instead of getting the moderators / admin or
even the organization involved, they simply copied the
text and forwarded it off to the Secret Service. :|
Needless to say, the aforementioned forum poster received
a personal visit from the man. All posts regarding the
subject were deleted / removed from the thread. At no point
did he ever make specific threats. He simply said what
many others think. If Congress is too pathetic to do
something about our ' loose cannon ' in charge of the
country, then the citizens should.
Long story, short version:
Be VERY careful about what you say. You never know if
someone might take it personal and decide to burn you
with it.

Good story Daye - I agree...... Sometimes the man goes overboard, but anyone talking about getting rid of governments or what not in a forum should watch their back, they may get a visit!
Personally I try to avoid conversations about religion and politics and if people have problems they need to talk about they should feel free to without any recrimintation as long as the comments and dialogue is directed, even if it is negative, at the subject manner, not at a person or personal beliefs. ie: Jesus is as idiot = not a good thing to say without getting flamed; but I don't agree that Jesus was the Son of God, or with the religion that he founded = much better and directed at the subject, not the person.
Being a Mormon and a Republican I have some strong beliefs, and love to hear others thoughts and comments, but we need to be constructive and not personal in our forums.....at least in the more public ones - lol
