With lots of help from KGBers, I have made my appearance in on the FFA server of Vangard. As of now I am a level 8.5 Human Cleric.

I am having a great time with my character. It is great to be back in an MMORPG. My machine is holding out pretty well, but I found out that the game is not optimized for SLI mode on my new gaming rig, which I went all out on: Intel Core2 Extreme processor QX6700 (2.66GHz,1066FSB) w/Dual Core Technology and 8MBcache 4GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz Dual 768MB NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX in SLI ,ode SATA RAID 0 With Dual 160GB 10000 RPM Hard Drives Here is what I see in game: Screen Shot from the JetStar Rig Once you hit Level 7, you are open meat for PKs and Griefers. I got jumped by this mage, and after healing myself, I turned on him and started beating him down. He went invisable (or crashed?) and must have ran off. It was my first PvP in a while and I was surprised how calm I stayed and how much fun it was to feel the rush once again. I hope that all of you will join me. The Machine requirements are not as bad as people think. I have opened the Vangard private forums to all KGB citizens, and I hope you will all have a look. I plan to document my experiences and post more!

This happened to me a number of times too ... have some real tools playing this game. Jokers that are many level's above you, try to jump ya & because the sux at PvP, they either log off or flee ... pretty humerous.

LOL. Been awhile huh Jet.
I would say of all the current games available, this one truly gives KGB a chance to reclaim it's rightful place as defenders of the weak and innocent. The game world of course is huge and there are many obstacles to your pursuit of that, but it certainly is as obtainable as it was in UO. There is plenty for everyone to do, from pure fighters to the crafters in the guild. I have yet to find anything that does not come close to the feel of Everquest with the scope of UO. It is an amazing game to this point and I have only been playing for about 8 hours total.
Yes, there are some considerations, such as the extraordinary update time initially and your machine can not be to old. I am running an Intel p4 at 2.8 gigs, with 4 mb memory and an ATI 1650 graphics card and it appears to run just fine.
All in all, good luck KGB. If you get yourselves together, you will see most of your old enemies in this one (the PvP server anyway) and many new ones. Griefage appears to be the order of the day and the thrill of the PvP is as good as it once was.
For those of you new to KGB and considering your future, this game and its PvP server offers you the opportunity to be what KGB was originally created for, the guild that protects the innocents and fights for the rights of all. Your guild was founded on the ideals of being the protectors, the knights in shining armor if you will. This will give you the chance to come together in a massive way, on a server that appears to need that focus more than you can know. But, you don't need me to tell you that, you have your own people in game who can do that. Good luck to you on that one.
Jet, see you in the realm.

Damn that interface looks almost identical to WoW lol...
I'd probably give it a shot but I doubt my computer can handle it plus I don't have anywhere near 20gbs free on my hard drive :P (80gb hdd total).

Would depend on your system bro. I don't know anything about it so can't help there. I will say that freeing up hard drive space was easy.
It has WOW similariuties and a lot of similarieties to EQ2. The most different however is that on this server, after level 7, it is free game on the PvP. I dont care if your standing right in front of a guard, you can be ganked. Its rough being solo, but hey, I do what I can. Check into it, I am sure other KGB are looking for the back-up.

Nice!
Looks like you are hanging out just North of where I am at currently, where the three rivers meet together! Which is definitely full of gank-happy "griefers".
Over the weekend I ran into a necromancer who was killing folks had lost connection and were rezzed at the bind stone. Hmm... killing the defenseless and then feeding them to his abomination?! This sort of ill-behavior must not go unchallenged!! It never got old killing him and his halfling buddy "blob", in fact three of us in the same area banded together and launched a rolling offensive against these guys!
I am sure that if we organize as KGB in Vanguard there will be plenty of good folks who will want to join our ranks.
Hope to group with you soon JetStar! Looks like you are getting closer in level, so we can quest together instead of me stealing all the xp!
