KGB Shirt Logo Contest
|
I am planning to create a set of KGB apparel that will be offered at cost to all members. This will give everyone a chance to represent KGB!
I am thinking of T-Shirts and Men's and Ladies Polo shirts either silk screened or embroidered with KGB logos.
Please submit your entries in this thread or email to gm@the-kgb.com . Please include a small logo on the right front chest, and something on the back.
If there are entries, I will post a public vote and the guild as a whole will pick a winner.
The winner not only gets to have their image represent us, but I will pre-order the deluxe version of AOC as well as pay for your monthly fee for 1 year!
Please submit your entry by April 15th 2007. No late entries will be accepted as I am leaving for Alaska on the 15th to return May 11th.
I will post the entries for voting on Midnight of the 15th. Voting will be open for 5 days.
Feel free to use any KGB images in your entry. You can find the different logos in the KGB Constitution, Armed Forces Pages, as well as http://w3.the-kgb.com/rank .
Good luck and I hope to see some impressive entries.

On the polo shirts i dont think a logo on the back would look good maybe the sleeve. tshirts are fine

What are you talking about? I wear polos all the time at work. T shirts are too trashy to display seriously.

That depends, we made them really tasteful back in the UO days. Our Oregon meeting we were able to go to different events, and claim that KGB was different organizations.
We played a brewing guild at an Octoberfest in Portland, and got free beer and sausage.
Its all in the design.

ya but a lot of places can't get past the KGB or the mention of beer. I know that my webspace is blocked from my moms work because it's tied to alcohol so she can't even access my kgb site when she's at work of all the kids pictures lol.
Small events like that I think it would be fine but some sort of professional job where you are under scrutiny or something like that you won't be able to wear it. We had a contest like this not too many years ago I can't remember if it was during WoW or Vanguard but didn't a logo get submitted and approved for KGB gear but then nothing had came out of it.

Here is an original Left Chest proposal from the last attempt. Problem is the old KGB coat of arms is low res. Anyone want to try and clean it up?
Its lost its roundness.
I would even be partial to a new coat of arms.

I wear polo shirts to work nearly every day. It's almost engineering standard for the software guys I work with. And if I can wear my Real Men Wear Kilts shirt to work with no one batting an eye, I'll bet I will have no problem wearing a KGB shirt as well.

I think I redid that shield a few years ago. . . .
color-wise it's easy enough to change. I just have
to make sure I still have the geometry somewhere. . .

looks good but i don't think the yellow is that good but i couldn't say another color since red would run with the KGB but it looks nice. maybe have in small text knights of glory and beer

I like the simplicy of it. Perhaps this is good on the front and a Knights of Glory and Beer assed on the larger logo on the back.

Toying around with this some more. I have another idea in my head for a logo,
but finding the time to make it happen is almost impossible. Between work,
Aikido, and a parrot who can't stand to be away from me for more than two minutes,
finding any time to play with this is tough.
Personally, I think the shield with a beer mug incorporated
into it is the way to go

I really think we need something to Represent the Beer since that is the biggest thing about KGB was the beer or virtual beer!

That should be the t-shirt design. That's the best font I've seen with anything KGB-related and the colors are IMO perfect. Put that in the centered on the front of the shirt--high so it sits above the breast.

First off, Happy Birthday Jet, I'm sure there will be a thread elsewhere on it but I plan on posting this once today.
Secondly, Heraldry, Coats of Arms, or Knightly Orders can be very complex things if you want them to be. I personally think a updated look for KGB would be very interesting.

The schemes on those shirts look great.
Can you add two alternate color choices besides those two? Like a Black shirt with a silver logo & green lettering, and a Light Grey shirt with green logo & black lettering? Polo shirts would really look great as well, and have a more professional appearance.
I can honestly say that I don't own a single bright red shirt (on purpose) and not many blue ones. Besides, if any of you are ever running around LA or other such places with a blue or red T-shirt, I think you're asking for trouble...

Sorry I was a bit late.. I was in Russia for the last month visiting relatives so I was a BIT off the "net" so to speak. ;-) If I don't qualify - that is okay... just some ideas to consider then:
I liked Heidi's logo, griffon with beer and sword in hand but not the "wraparound" look.
As for the shirt idea - what do you think about the "bowling shirt" (aka camp shirt - button down with collar), not the tuck-in sort of dress shirt but it will certainly be more "dressy" looking than a T-Shirt.
Black Shirt (everything will stand out sharply) - with red, gold, or silver secondary colors.
Right sleeve (worn like a patch)
The KGB crest: Place the griffon in a "kite" shield instead of a roundel - with KGB below (or above) the logo (still within the shield).
Back:
A nice large griffon logo (Heidi's logo with beer) - with "The Knights of Glory and Beer" above (in shoulder area)
Front:
Could have embroidery (for those who choose) - KGB name and title over the breast pocket.
