Dear Members and Friends,
KGB has supported it's members for the last 13 years in many ways. Specifically with programs like KDAP (KGB Darkfall Assistance Program), we have been able to purchase new computers systems for those that have fallen on hard times to be able to continue to play with the rest of us.
Personally, I have given as much as I can to the guild and it's members. This includes financial assistance, computer hardware, and things like gaming account maintenance.
I write you today because many of our KGB brothers and sisters are struggling in the current poor economy. I have been doing all I can to help our members, and recently pledged a substantial amount personally and am hoping that some of you can join me. I don't make these requests often, but when I do I hope that you can spare something to help. Even a give of $5.00 helps, and anything more is just plain wonderful. Many members that have been in need in the past have gone on to donate something in the future. Together our funds have gone to help many with things far more important than gaming. I ask that you all give what you can, and know that the recipients and I appreciate it very much.

- RELAUNCHING THE ROYAL ORDER OF THE HIGH KING
Historically, the ROHK was about commitment. Here is the original definition of the order:
The Royal Order of the High King is an elite group of KGB Members, Military and non-military that have served in the Guild for at least 6 months. Members of this elite order swear their fealty to KGB, promising that they will remain in the guild as long a KGB survives in at least inactive status. They must strictly adhere to the 1st Commandment at all times. KGB ROHK members represent the most dedicated and committed members in KGB and will be respected as such. ROHK Members will be placed in a special section of the Hall of Fame.
If an ROHK member leaves KGB after they have pledged their membership, they will have seven days in which to reconsider. If they choose to leave after the waiting period the following actions will be taken:
1) Separation from the Guild is permanent, no exceptions. Not even the High King may intervene
2) The former ROHK will not be allowed to take part in or use KGB resources of any kind (IRC Channels, KGB Email and Webspace, KGB Message boards)
The ROHK represents the ultimate commitment to our organization. It should not be taken lightly, and you should consider depth of the commitment before pursuing membership. The KGB High King is the only position that my induct members to this order.
These guidelines proved to be problematic with the fluid nature of gaming, and peoples real lives. Consequently the Royal Order was retired a few years back.
THE NEW ROYAL ORDER
I have decided to re-launch the Royal Order of the High King with a new definition and purpose. The idea is still similar, as it is all about commitment. The definition will be used to recognize members that donate real life funds to the KGB, it's members, mission, and services. Here is the new definition:
 THE ROYAL ORDER OF THE HIGH KINGThe ROHK represents a select group of members who have pledged some of their real life assets to KGB and its members, mission, and services. Members who meet the minimum requirement will be members of the ROHK for life. Membership in the ROHK is represented by the ROHK Award that is displayed as a ribbon and insignia for each $50.00 US dollars you donate. These awards will be recorded in your permanent record (KGB Hall of Fame) as well as displayed in your KGB Oracle signature. The ROHK is how we record for hostory those people that have the means and the commitment to help others, and the organization that we have all built together. Help others and KGB by joining the KGB Royal Order of the High King today.
It is my hope that we can generate the assistance that our members need to keep KGB strong with all the different ways we help our guild. I hope that many of you will join me in supporting KGB, and the ROHK.

Chief of Staff Valaria is known for her constant dedication to the KGB cause, its membership, and our ideas. Many do not realize the amount of countless hours and effort that she puts into her position here with KGB, which is one of the major factors behind our continued growth and advancement. She holds one of the most difficult positions in KGB that cause many to go MIA, but yet she is still here and exceeding our expectations. Due to the countless hours and numerous sacrifices Val has made in her time with us, she is being awarded several medals.
 The KGB Guild Distinguished Service Medal as proposed by Senator Drakiis.
This award is presented to individuals who's non-Military contribution to the guild stands out from the rest. It is a great honor to receive this award as it is a statement to the recipient's exemplary performance and sacrifice to his Guild and the KGB Nation.
Description by Drakiis: Valaria has been working tirelessly to maintain guild operations and has performed management duties the likes of which would drive anyone insane, she is a excellent Admin of KGB and equal to Elph in many ways.
 The KGB Prime Ministers Golden Cross as awarded by Prime Minister Romeo Montague.
This Medal is bestowed on an individual by the Prime Minister. It is a way for him to recognize individuals for exemplary service to him and to the Guild.
Val and I have spent countless hours in deep discussion in regard to many of the day-to-day issues that KGB is faced with. Without her continued input, support and help, I would be faced with numerous sleepless nights and would more than likely be bald. With Val around we know that any issues that may arise in our absence have been left in more than capable hands. It is for this that I say, Thank you Valaria, and award her The Prime Ministers Golden Cross.

ORACLE SOFTWARE VERSION UPGRADE
BUGFIX: Fixed an issue with RSS feeds showing the UBBCode instead of the HTML.
BUGFIX: Fixed an issue with the featured member sometimes showing a broken image.
BUGFIX: Fixed an issue where sometimes an invalid entry would be added to the css files causing css errors.
BUGFIX: Fixed a bug when trying to delete a user group.
BUGFIX: Fixed a pagination problem when viewing user subscriptions
BUGFIX: Fixed a bug with the moderator flag sometimes not showing up in certain forums that a user moderates.
BUGFIX: Added the missing post_inner class to the portal page.
BUGFIX: Moderator flag wasn't displaying properly for moderators due to a missing variable in showflat.
BUGFIX: Added the proper message when trying to view posts in a teaser forum.
UPDATE: Alphabetized the buddy list when viewing a user profile.
UPDATE: When a subscription expires for a user, it will also send a private message to the primary admin notifying them of the expiration.

CHANGES TO KGB DFO AND KGB INDUSTRIES
Hello everyone,
I am sure everyone has heard there are some changes coming. I wanted to explain in details. At our current population and with the current KGB owned resources, we are going to focus on a team effort to equip the guild, and use our new Zhenyu house and vendor to be one of the premier suppliers on the server.
MILITARY
Lt Shark and Lt Rorshack (Deacon) will move to the rank of Trainee Captains with full bank access for another 30 day training period. They will have access to guild resources and be able to distribute gear and ammo as needed. As always they will report to General Arkh, and Supreme General Wolfgang. Logistics, recruiting, and crafting will be managed by the new Logistics Captains.
LOGISTICS
Pickens and Mamapick will be taking new positions under the KGB Faction Government called Logistics Captain. They will report up through the faction government, Chancellor Val, Chancellor and Prime Minister Romeo, and me as High King and High Chancellor.
Pickens and Momma are going will have full bank access and access to all CKGB resources, crafter accounts, and guild resources. They will help to provide for the guild as well as recruit and facilitate as they have been doing. These are non-military positions, and will help distribute resources to armed forces actions via a new bag system.
Vice Chancellor of State Vuldan, can get involved as he sees fit in the logistics side if he so chooses. At this time and at our current strength, there is not a whole lot of politics going on to entertain him.
These changes will take effect at midnight on Saturday 08/20. Stay tuned!

Who are we?
KGB - The Knights of Glory and Beer was formed 13 years ago in 1997 and has played a part in every major MMO released to date. KGB prefers player vs player interaction, not run of the mill instanced hand-holding. Darkfall is clearly the game we've been waiting for. We are focused on character progression and maintaining a tight and mature organization.
What are we?
KGB has a complex functioning government and our recruitment process is difficult, but ensures only the most qualified players make it in. We do not ask for tribute upon joining or tax the fun out of you (we accept donations only). We have a diverse player base from all over the world and invite players from all time zones. We do not have a time investment requirement and invite our members to play when they want and as much as they want.
Accomplishments
KGB has a long list of accomplishments from the EU and NA servers. We have, to date, held a total of 4 different city holdings. On EU1 Server, under KGB military leadership, the Coalition of the Chillin and KGB orchestrated a quadruple siege on Hyperion, delivering the final blow. KGB is known for it's access to information and it's intelligence gathering organization is second to none. Today, on NA, KGB has been a part of just about every large battle on the NA server.

*What is a SPONSOR and how do I get one?*
Sponsorship is a requirement to the application process. A Sponsor is a member of KGB in good standing that is willing to not only vouch for you, but to assist and watch over you during your application period. Your sponsor may terminate your application at any time before you attain full citizenship based on your conduct / performance. To find a Sponsor, head over to the KGB Oracle read up and file a request for sponsorship or let any titled member know you are interested in becoming a member. You can also send a tell to JetStar deKGB, Val Aria, or Romeo Montague in game. You will then need to file the KGB Membership application at the KGB Oracle. You would need to provide the Sponsor's name. Then you are on your way. Why go through all this? Well, this process ensures your guildmates are of the highest quality and integrity.
*What is done with my application?*
Once you have a sponsor and you have created an KGB Oracle ID, you may fill out the citizenship application. Your application will be reviewed by every member on KGB who may comment on experiences with you in the past, or may have heard rumors concerning your behavior, whether good or bad. See the faction specific information in the KGB Constitution for details. After acquiring a sponsor and filing the application, you will be added to the in game organization as a private.
*Do I really have to like beer to join KGB?
Yes, stop being a pussy. They even have non-alcoholic beer now!
*What is expected from members by the guild?*
You are expected to kick ass, try your hardest, and work well with your mates. You are expected to participate in guild events, help with rescue missions when called upon, and aid others in the Nation to the best of your ability. You are expected to represent our Nation in a manner in which we can all be proud. KGB is a close knit group of friends, and many of our citizens have been members for over 13 years. The process is difficult, but it is meant to be, and our organization is stronger for it.

A NEW BEGINNING
Together as a guild, we have been developing a method of play that can work for all levels of KGBer, and all styles. This new method is focused on using our assets for mobility as well as not being tied to any specific play style. The days of never ending defense are over.
Join the conversation and the experiment as we again find the fun, and take part in some parts of the game that have been long lost by the responsibility of city ownership.
I think this gives us a new freedom, and a chance to really hone our skills and teamwork. Check the secure forums and make your ideas and opinions part of the decisions that are being made as we speak.

THE "JESUS" PATCH
The patch notes are ready for release since we know exactly what will make it into it, so we’re posting them below:
Normal mining nodes now have a chance of dropping a rare metal ore
Mounted combat damage is reduced from 200% the normal damage to 150%. This applies to all weapons except sithras (which are still at 200%).
Battlehorn weight has increased from 100kg to 200kg
Invulnerability shield after revive has been reduced to 10 seconds from 60 seconds
Wildlife has been added to many cities and clan cities. This includes cats, rats, chicken, pheasants, manthe spiders.
Added a toggleable sound notification when receiving a private message.
Corrected the hitpoint advancement for all players. Hitpoints now increase faster at lower Vitality/Strength levels
Siege stone marker now displays the correct icon.
Several performance optimizations
Siege stones can no longer be placed under waters.
Corrected an issue where during a siege you couldn’t destroy a main city building if you had previously destroyed a wall
Fixed a bug where you could have mage killer or mage hunter without penalty
When you log out underwater, you will log back in at the same spot.
The following spells can be cast instantly without charge time. You can still hold the spell by keeping the left mouse button pressed.

Update: Lightning Bolt
Mana cost has been increased by 50% and cooldown by 30%, except for Pungent Mist which has a Mana Cost increase of 100% and a cooldown increase of 50%.
Cooldown for Eye Rot has been increased to 30 seconds
Splash damage is related to your distance from the explosion center. This applies just to player cast spells against other players.
Sea Fortress cannon damage has been decreased by 25%
Sea Fortresses will now go vulnerable every 10 days and their rewards have been upgraded.
You can no longer be decapitated by monsters.
In order to have a chance to decapitate another player, the finishing blow has to be dealt by a melee weapon and target health has to drop below -10 hitpoints.
Added quality 5 Rakta Blood to monster loot lists.
A player can now deploy a maximum of 2 strongboxes of the same type at the same time.
