hope your a paying subscriber, word has it that is the only way you'll get a key, plus apparently from what I know there is going to be a open beta but it's unclear as to whether it will be open for the public or only file planet subscribers.

I am a fileplanet memeber, they are giving out keys but only in "bunches", they gave out 2 sets of keys yesterday and 3 today I just missed this morning ones by 10 minutes, hoping to get one for the afternoon giveway or tonight, they are giving keys out everyday tell the first. My machine is so slow would probably not even get past the login screen to AOC, so if I get a key and someone wants to play let me know I will give it to ya.

Yesterday they had 2 times they were giving out keys, today is 3 and I bet for the rest of the month they will be giving out keys 3 times aday so Draka should have a good shot at getting they key. I am now just trying to figure out the times they are giving them out so I can be online at that time.
I might be abit confused now I thought you got the beta key from clicking a link when they are giving them out, but it looks like they are just randomly sending them out to fileplant members.

All info indicates that you do have to be a Fileplanet subscriber to get the keys. They keys are not randomly given to the members at this time, they are on a first-click (Join Beta), first-get basis when each Batch of Keys goes live. Fileplanet does appear to be giving out 3 sets of keys a day now. So far they seem to be quasi-consistent on the times: (in Pacific Standard Time)
1st set around 8-8:30 AM
2nd set around 1:00 PM
3rd set between 11-Midnight
When you go to the Beta Event page; http://www.fileplanet.com/promotions/ageofconan/beta/temp_closed.aspx
You will see the grid w/ “Daily Key, Date, Status”, etc. and it will list the number of Batches that they will give out for that day. The status field was a bit confusing at first, but here are the definitions:
Distributed = gone; those keys are already handed out
TBD = no batch of keys has been set aside yet, but are planned to do so
Confirmed = a batch of keys have been set aside and confirmed for the date listed
Coming Soon = a batch of keys will be released within TWO hours of this notice
So…once Batch 1, 2, or 3 goes into “Coming Soon” mode, you have to either: A) user their annoying IM/Xfire like thing, (called Comrade … links all over the page) to watch for an IM message w/ a link to the page, that keys will be released , or B) just keep refreshing the Fileplanet AoC Beta Event page for the next 2 hours until it goes live.
Once the key batch does go live, that grid with the daily key date, status, info, etc. is replaced by a button that says “Join the Beta” or something like that; you have to click on that button and confirm your info, then you are taken to a page that presents your beta key to you, and gives you the Download links.
***These keys are going like hotcakes. I just got mine today, on the 3rd day of trying WITH the Comrade thingy telling me when to go look. They seem to be gone within 2 minutes of the Batch going live…literally. Yesterday I made the mistake of actually looking at the ToA (Terms of Agreement) before clicking on the “Join the Beta” button, and they keys were gone...30 seconds after the Comrade IM had informed me it was open. Today I just put a check next to the “I agree..yadda yadda” and clicked Join as fast as I could.****

I just think it is kinda crappy, that somone that just signed up today for fileplanet has the same chance of getting a key, then me who has been a fileplanet member for over 2 years, they should have atleast gave the people who have been with them along time get first crack at the keys and then let the people who just signed up get a chance to get the keys the last couple of days of keys giveaway...
